1. New Year's Day
2. With or Without You
3. An Cat Dubh
4. Mofo
5. Your Blue Room
6. Wire
7. Numb
8. I Threw a Brick
9. Desire
10. Moment of Surrender
11. Elevation

13. California
14. SYCMIOYO

#1 to #8 are all excellent songs. In the eighties and nineties, you could rely on track three to usually be an album highlight. Lately, however, it seems U2 have put some shockers there - especially SYCMIOYO.

1. With or Without You
2. One
3. New Year's Day
4. Your Blue Room
5. Moment of Surrender
6. Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own
7. Numb
8. California (There Is No End to Love)
9. Desire
10. Mofo
11. Wire
12. An Cat Dubh
13. Elevation
14. I Threw a Brick Through a Window

Holy shit this was tough. Numbers 1-6 are all in my top 15 U2 songs. And 1-10 are all probably in my top 50. They truly do put many of their best songs in the 3 spot.

all are good, but clearly #3 #7 & #11 are alone on top of this mountain

Yes. One, WOWY are obviously tops. Even if you're sick of it, One is a monster. I rank MoS just a hair under them with Desire, just a bit over New Year's Day. To be honest I think Mos is as good a song as the first two but gets this placing because it came at the wrong time in their career. If it was written in 87 I think it would be widely placed in the top 3.

1. One
2. With Or Without You
3. California
4. Moment Of Surrender
5. Numb
6. Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own

New Years Day has never clicked with me and I hate Desire.

Worst list I've ever seen. I know opinions, opinions, opinions.......:but your opinion is awful. California at #3? Wtf. NYD at 9? Wire at 10?
This makes me wanna give up on life.

He didn't even rank Your Blue Room!!!! One of the most interesting songs they've ever made imo.

It's just going to have to come down to opinions, opinions, opinions. I really like California, although I'm sure some days it'll fluctuate between 4 and 5 because I love Numb and Moment of Surrender almost equally as much.

I've never understood the love for NYD. I just don't get it. It's barely better than the rest of the boringness of Boy through War. It's way too long, and just kinda boring. I don't hate the song (I hate few U2 songs), but it's just not my cup of tea.

10 - 13 are a toss up, as I have no real opinions on them because they're incredibly meh songs. Except Desire, I probably should have placed Desire at dead last.

I chose not to rank Your Blue Room as I generally don't like to put Passengers songs in U2 rankings. I do really like it though, and I'd probably slot it before California.

I would have put California at 6 or 7 at worst. Other than that stupid intro it's better than anything on HTDAAB or NLOTH easily, to me.

But that far ahead of NYD and Wire? That's crazy. NYD is legendary.
I think California is a pretty solid song, but not close to those 2.

I didn't say I would put it ahead of either of those songs. I only said that there are 6 or 7 other songs on that list I would put it ahead of.

I adore Wire. I think I remember reading a quote from Bono that said if you want to hear a perfect example of Edge's guitar style in one song, listen to Wire. Bono was right, I think Edge does some of his best "80s U2" guitar work here, and makes it sound so effortless and natural.

I was just referring to that guy's crazy list. I personally would not rank California as high as 7-8, but I don't have a problem at all if someone does. We all have opinions.
But what does bother me is when I see a list where all of the 80's songs (except WOWY) last on the list.
