Here we go again...

Went back to the hospital last week and spoke to the top gastro-intestinal surgeon in there, who just happened to be on that day. Lucky break for me! Having not been listened to properly before in my (humble) opinion, I decide that I'm going to offer my own diagnosis as to what this pain is and he agrees..."You're probably right, it does sound like the gall bladder." Jeez, where the hell were you a year ago??? He also wants my liver checked just to be safe - Oh crap...my party years catching up at long last??
So I get some blood drawn and he tells me to make an appointment for 4 months from then, but tells me that if the blood tests show something I'll be hearing from him a lot sooner. And so yesterday, the rattle of my letterbox announces the arrival of a little brown envelope...SHIT! I'm going back to hospital again on the 11th for an ultrasound, which is commonly used to ascertain location, number and size of gall stones apparently. All the letter gave me was an appointment time, so it can't be anything to do with the liver or I would have got a phone call instead I imagine.
If they can just pin the problem down and then do something about it, I'll be a happier man after more than 18 months of pain.

I know this will sound strange but I hope it is your gall bladder. Why I hope that is because it is a problem that can be solved and allow you to live without the awful pain. I haven't had it myself, but everyone I know who has did have incredible pain with it, but after recovering from the surgery they all felt sooooo much better.
I hope your ultrasound on the 11th is the beginning of you getting better and being able to live pain free. :yes:Posted 06-02-2007 at 03:07 AM by indra -
