Million Dollar Hotel

So...I just saw it. I thought it was an okay movie. I just adored TomTom. I thought they had such a sweet relationship. It was fun hearing the familiar songs with a whole new context. I thought they were very appropriate for the film. I wouldn't say this was one of Mel's best roles though. Eh...I'm not really good at evaluating movies.

I really loved the residents of the hotel. Some really creative casting and very lovable roles. It made me miss community. Up until 2 years ago, I had always lived with people. It reminded me of when I was in college living in the residence halls, and then my volunteering experiences. I didn't think I'd say this, but I think I miss living in community. I think it is great that I live alone now though, because otherwise I probably wouldn't get any work done. My schedule is so crazy, I could hardly imagine trying to juggle a roommate on top of everything. Besides, my dog is pretty much like a roommate.

But I do miss the sense of community. I miss the adventures that one can get into when living among an eccletic group of people. I might be speaking too soon though. What with me applying for jobs in big cities...I might have to live with 3 or more people again. Then perhaps you might see a very different journal entry.
