Torn Ligaments

Posted 07-11-2009 at 05:24 PM by Party Boy

Sadly experienced the pain of near complete torn ligaments in my ankle last week while playing soccer. Physio told me I would have been better breaking my leg or ankle as it would heal in 12 weeks. With the ligament damage I've experienced, it's going to take 12 months to get 80% strength back into what I damaged.

Gutted. No football for a year and on crutches in the summer. Not to mention the pain.

Ouch!! That totally sucks. I have heard that breaks often heal better and faster than tears. Hope your injury heals quickly (relatively speaking anyway) and completely.

That really sucks Andy. Take it easy! I tore my ligaments in my right ankle several years ago, it does not feel good at all.

Been told a break would heal in 12 weeks while torn ligaments will take a year to get back to 80%. There goes my active lifestyle!

I tore mine when I was 22. It was not bad enough for surgery but I had to wear a moonboot for sometime and then an ankle brace for a while when I would do any activity that required running. I am sorry that you will not be able to play your footie. There goes your Arsenal career.
