Passport retrieved, Duvet gone

Posted 11-23-2005 at 07:46 AM by Party Boy

So after the passport drama of yesterday, the relocation company found passport and season ticket for arsenal and couriered it back late last night which was really nice of them. So everything ended well... or so I thought..

I went to go to bed when I realised they shipped my duvet, pillows and all my bedclothes away. And then I realised they also shipped my sleeping bag. Short of crawling into my housemates bed at 1am, I got a couple of sarongs/towels and clothes and made myself some sort of blanket. Of course, I woke up about 5 times during the night absolutely freezing. Hey-ho. As I said yesterday, I am an idiot.

Had a chat with our HR dept in Canada who was discussing various choices re: my working visa. They have suggested I apply for residency sooner rather than later - as opposed to having a work permit which will need renewing on an annual basis. Looks like residency is the best option which, if I stay long enough, will lead to citizenship etc. I won't have to give up my Irish passport which would be great, esp if I get a Canada passport. Thats all a little ways down the road however, but its good to know the option is there.

Tonight off to a club to see a workmates band play, all for charity, so it should be a good night esp. as most of the office is going.

I might buy a sleeping bag today also.

I moved a couple of months ago (just a bit less than 80 miles though...) and I had to do the sleeping on the floor on a pile of towels routine a couple of nights. I was a crankier than normal bitch the next day! :)

yeah i have to agree.. sarongs and towels as a covering at night does NOT induce a good nights sleep..
