More times

Don't feel like you have to read or comment. I find that I use this blog to record my times and it's nice to be able to look them up here. If I were smart, I'd write the name and date of the race and my time on the back of my bib number 'cause I keep all of those, but as long as this blog doesn't get deleted or erased or whatever, this works.

Times

I got my splits (individual event times) from the triathlon I did yesterday. This is my third time doing this course.

March '10
800yd swim 19:25
12mi bike 49:10 (includes transition from pool to bike and from bike to run)
3.1mi run 35:46 (yuck!)
Total time = 1:44:21

Yesterday
swim 16:21 (I've done better but )
bike 44:20
run 31:26 (that's more like it!)
Total time = 1:32:08

Miles to go before I sleep

AKA: Getting Better At Stuff Is Hard

So I've dropped 4 minutes from my 800yd swim time by working with a coach once a week this summer. And when I swim on my own during the week I feel like, "yeah, I've got this down, my form is good" and then I go to practice on Sundays. Every Sunday Coach Phil tells me one new thing that I've never thought of to improve my arms (don't even get me started on my awful kick). One week it was rotation, to get my elbows up higher, one week...

New PR

I hope you guys don't think I"m bragging. Well, actually, I am. It's just that I've never really done anything athletic to an extent that I can actually get better at it.

New PR for the 1/2 mile swim: 16:06!!!! (I think I did 15:34 at the race last week but there were no lap counters so I can't be totally sure I did the full 1/2 mile )
