Spanish Eyes

I have always wondered about this from time to time but what does it mean when Bono says a girl has Spanish eyes? What does the Spanish eyes saying mean? The song In A Little While he says "A little girl with Spanish eyes" I was guessed he was referring to his daughter that time but I heard the Spanish Eyes reference in some other songs. At first I thought he meant brown eyes or dark brown eyes referring to those with Spanish heritage but it conflicts with the part "In A Little While" when he sings about his daughter(s) (because they have blue/green eyes?). Can someone answer my dumb question. I will appreciate it.

the girl with the spanish eyes is ali. not sure of the background story, though. something to do with her brown eyes, maybe?

Black Irish -- Irish people with Spanish blood, I believe -- mostly have brown eyes. I think that's the reference.

I totally agree with Dandy and Thousandfold! It's Aly he referes to... Probably the line "Spanish Eyes" is kind of synonime with "A blue eyed boy (Bono) needs a brown eyed girl (Ali)"
