This is one of my favorites that you've written. There is so much in this poem. It's not long but I find something new in each phrase every time I read it.

------------------
**Still looking for the
face I had before the
world was made....**

**Work like you don't
need money, love like
you've never been hurt,
and dance like no
one's watching.**

peace is something you hold
between two fingers
you can build carefully
block upon block
but the slight wind of mistrust
will shatter your art
a thousand exploding fractions
peace is reflected in the moon
weary boots lying in a ditch
crumpled love-letters in his breastpocket
shallow mud consumes the flesh
and a timeless circle closes its door
peace is hung out to dry
to grow stale in the sun
it needs nurturing touch
a light caress
and motionless, backbreaking hours
peace takes a swan dive
into the apocalypse
a lazy yawn and when I look again
only the trace hangs in the air
peace is the haunting voice
that won't leave me alone
when peace comes marching
I turn to stone

thank you guys
I'm not sure about that redrum

Just the bang and the clatter
As an angel runs to ground...

This is extremely good, especially the last eight lines. The last two lines have that perfect "shock" you get from something well written and unexpected. BabyGrace, I hope writing is going to be an important part of your future.

wow this just blew my mind. no, not my poem and I'm just replying in my own thread, but I meant coming here and seeing all of these again...because 3 nights ago I spent several hours here reading all a lot of our old poetry...
I wonder if nostalgia is contagious?

I loved this poem, I still think of those last two lines from time to time.

Your sun so bright it leaves no shadows, only scars
Carved into stone on the face of earth
The moon is up and over One Tree Hill
We see the sun go down in your eyes
