Rock n' Roll Doggie
It's actually by Carter Alan. It was re-released in 97 as "U2 The Road to Pop". A good read -- doesn't add a lot to what isn't already known. It's strengths (IMHO) are its exclusive focus on U2's early years -- in the run between 83 and 87, when they first really made a go at the World's Biggest Band.

^ thanks! is the 97 version with a different title any different on the inside? meaning, did they edit/add anything, or is the text exactly the same?
