I'm excited, too! I really enjoy "American Soul's" sense of swagger. And GOOYOW is a layered, textured beauty! So far I think this album's miles ahead of SOI.

What I've done and what works for me is to not read some people's posts after a quick skim. Not because they disagree with me, but because they usually don't have anything positive to say about anything; therefore they add nothing to the conversation.

Loving this song! And yes, I'd probably by a Refujesus shirt. So shoot me.

    Peace. Refujesus loves you all.

    Did Trump weaken SOE

Trump is just a stand-in for evil incarnate, which we'll always have with us in one form or another. So...I don't think the album will age once Trump shuffles off this mortal coil or exits the contemporary scene.

Listen, if you want a hip band with super-cool lyrics, U2 is not going to fit your bill. 90's U2, yes perhaps, but not in any other incarnation. I'd suggest finding a hipster band to latch onto--since that's not my scene I'm not really sure what to suggest.

Enjoyed reading this thread, but I now have to go iron my beige pants. Night, all!

It has been over a decade – how has your life really changed?

Sending loving thoughts, Mrs. S. Take time for yourself, too. Then you'll be able to give more to others, Listen to some good music and let Bono's beautiful lyrics and voice remind you of some good things. God bless.

Mormonism is an extremely strange religion imo, but props to them for being the only religious group to massively oppose Trump. And now they also have J. Flake.

Songs of Experience vol. 29: No More Acronyms

Love "Breathe", "Magnificent", "Moment of Surrender", "Unknown Caller"....a very under-rated album with several under the radar gems.

Google "Eminem" and watch his rap as he sticks it to Trump. Eminem is taking the opposite tactic of Bono and is telling part of his fan base to get lost. I like the rap, minus the part about Melania. Also, the ending seems a bit, shall we say, dramatic?!

Yes, it is. How are we going to survive three more years of this?

Are these Confederate markers presented in a historical manner, or more in line with nostalgia and glorification of the past?

I'm in the same boat as the poster above whose parents are now Trump supporters. Since they raised me to value knowledge and compassion, I am also scratching my head and trying to figure out how this happened. Blaming ignorance is a correct assessment. I do not believe that Trump wants...

The American flag is a powerful symbol and refusing to stand is naturally going to evoke strong emotions from veterans and others. I liked how the NFL members linked arms and stood together at the Lions game.

I still love them lots. I tried to "get" Radiohead but I just don't, sorry. Too pretentious or something.

Another thing about Bannon that makes me squirm is his use of religion as some sort of divisive wedge. He refers often to "Judeo-Christian" values. Again, nothing wrong at all with these values, but why can't a Muslim ascribe to the benefits of allowing your neighbor to pursue liberty in a way...

I'm sorry if I misinterpreted someone's words to mean that they were elevating non-Western thinkers over Western. It's not a competition--which was my point. I may have read too much into the post. Someone asked why I believe America is exceptional. I believe it is exceptional in its...

    US Politics III

Why does this argument have to be an either/or proposition? Don't the contributions of both Western civilization and Eastern thinkers have merit? It seems like some on this forum are so insistent in their defense of non-Western thought that it's become a sort of sledgehammer issue...
