One song spread out at 45rpm is higher quality than if they'd had to fit several songs in the same space but spinning more slowly at 33rpm. Since there was only one song on that side, 45rpm was the right choice to give us the best quality.

'Boots' was just dumb. Miracle isn't dumb, but it is far from the best track on the album. To me, it is one of my least favorites, but slightly ahead of the actual least favorite which is 'Sleep Like A Baby'. So what is that, my 10th favorite song on the album? And it's their single??

I thought the vinyl sounded pretty good - warm, fat low end and not over compressed from what I can tell. I was worried it would be squashed to hell and it wasn't.

I really hope it's NOT the Larry & son thing on the cover - I don't like it that much as a U2 cover, and do think it will be uncomfortable to many. That said, remember that the original BOY cover was controversial. U2 isn't new to this.

That's an intriguing idea! Vinyl quality is impaired for running times of longer than 20 minutes or so per side. Given that the new album is around 50 minutes or so, it could fit on a single LP. So a double LP (the planned release as of now) could be just SOI on two LPs, for extra quality...
