Album of the Summer . . . . so far

what up ya'll. I would have to say now with all certainty my choice for the album of the summer has been irrevocably altered. What once was easy tiger has been trumped by icky thump. long live jack white. no one does what jack white do.

Album of the Summer . . . . so far

ooops my bad, I guess I just love the song on the album and confused it. so spoon has got a lot of votes. I've never really gotten in to them. Before I wiki them anyone wanna tell me what they're about?

Album of the Summer . . . . so far

I love this question. Every summer there's a new one for me. Last summer I was doing Gnarls Barkley on repeat all summer long. this summer is kinda tough. So far I would have to say. . . . 1. Kings Of Leon, Fall to Pieces or 2. Ryan Adams, Easy Tiger both very awesome to listen to...

nevermind I found out where bono got it from. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5bNyertg98

I just meant lyrically. Borrowing click-clacking as an homage to van morrison not so much alluding to the song's meaning. I like both songs too. I just don't dig on bono's lyrics in that song so much.

you know what? I just heard van morrison's madage george and I bet bono got click clacking from that song. that would make me feel a little better, that it's a little less clunky if it's an allusion.

    U2 on Headphones

speaking of catching things you miss with headphones, on if god would send his angels, if you listen at the very end, you can hear bono continuing lyrics that are barely audible. kinda cool

Take this shirt Polyester white trash made in nowhere I call that clunky. Clunky clunky. I know that a lot of people disagree. is there anyone out there that sees what I'm talking about?

something about that click clack that lyrically is too generic to me. I've never thought about click clacking down some dead end street. . . .. now, a street with no name that's another story. :)

    Anyone else notice...

Paul Mccartney (groan) His new album is on the Starbucks Label. Five years ago that would've been a joke on late night television. Now it's real. Have you seen that poster of him acting coy? Have you heard his new song and the video that basically rips off Harrison's Got My Mind Set On...

MERGED --> Bono & Edge Off the Record on HBO Tonight

HBO's Off the Record (someone merge this with the thread cause I know there's one and I'm missing it cause I can't use the search option.) Have you people seen these videos on youtube?!? It's like U2 candy in your mouth. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bZFWppHbUQ

With or without you - rattle and hum

on the vertigo tour in 2005 I don't know how often they did this but in san diego (March 30) the sixth song they played was WOWY, right before NYD and it was amazing. It was completely understated and without event the song came through beautifully like you were re-hearing it. Just the band...

The first U2 song where you "got it"

it was the rattle and hum movie intro into streets and streets bono's rant in SBS and sympathy for the devil in bad, edge in slow motion in bad, bono wrapping his arms around adam at the end of bad. That was it for me. I was finished. see ya pearl jam, see ya soundgarden, see ya nirvana.

    War

I would like to respond to the cohesiveness issue, which I think would make an excellent thread by itself. I think ATYCLB and ZOOROPA are probably u2's most similar albums in terms of full listening experience. The first five tracks of both albums are the meat of the album and side two, if...

    War

I have always felt war to be the first modern u2 album. I have always felt boy and october to be early u2 albums. I don't discredit those two albums and wouldn't be on this board if I didn't listen to them with as much regularity as the others but I still feel that way. War sounds different...

All the b-sides is another reason that being a u2 fan is so easy. you're blue room north and south slow dancing two shots of happy a bunch of joshua tree era b-sides I can't think of ARE YOU GONNA WAIT FOREVER? (are you kidding me? I would have taken that song over several ones that made...

What's your Saturday Morning U2 song

Like a board game I propose that Clawgrabber must skip his next turn for forgetting what lyrics go to what songs. So since this isn't a game, life is not a game at all, it's actually really serious, I suggest that, and we'd have to do this on the honor system, that clawgrabber must pretend like...
