    San Jose #2 Setlist Party

How long has it been since they performed at least 8 songs off the latest album at a show? Popmart? Im not counting LIAWHL. That stat alone is impressive. I only wish Horses had been included tonight otherwise I can’t complain too much about that setlist.

    ***SPOILERS*** U2 eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour - Rehearsals/Soundcheck Thread #2

Taking it a step further, a Promenade + Landlady medley could be heavenly. Similar atmospheres and tones. Either way I’m stoked Red Flag Day has been rehearsed. Fingers crossed it debuts tonight!

Songs of Experience 37 - now with bonus orchestra

I sure do, it’s my second favorite after the St Peter String/BBC versions, with the album mix last. The “free yourself” part is easily one of my favorite post-2000 U2 moments, and I love how this remix is built around that! In any case I can’t wait to see how they play the song on tour. James

FYI, the Beck remix of LOH is now on iTunes and Spotify.

SPOILERS U2 eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour Rehearsals/Soundcheck Thread SPOILERS

Well from the soundchecks so far they’re playing Acrobat full band electric with Edge’s guitar sounding amazing, so at least it’s a big step above RHMT in that aspect (which as we know he played piano on — and I agree, a letdown, at least instrumentally). A lot can change in the coming weeks...

Whoa, I think that just instantly became my favorite U2 remix — at least in a long while. Thanks for posting!

If only he’d been handed The Unforgettable Fire and listened to Elvis Presley and America instead.

    2018 U2.com gift.

Yeah the instant I saw “U2 3D” I thought oh shit finally...bummer its just three remixes I really couldn’t care less about... very uninteresting. Vinyl remasters of all the R&H singles w/ live cuts would’ve been far more worthwhile.

    The Showman

I think they just mean it *sounds* effortless or natural, and not forced/cobbled together unlike other songs (such as Best Thing). I totally agree its a fun song, and truly embodies the defiant joy Bono has mentioned about the album. Hopefully they play it on tour, would pair up well with...

    Why no live Acrobat?

And it will be with Edge on piano just like RHMT

    More SOE Reviews

Huh? Of course Rattle and Hum is considered an official U2 album, with even a tour (Lovetown) to support it!

Book Of Your Heart (U2 saved the best for last)!

It does carry a different vibe than the album tracks but I keep coming back to this. Definite JT era vocals going on here, love his low voice. Edge’s guitar tone is haunting. By the way, does anyone hear a constant but subtle clicking sound during the first minute or so of this track? I’d love...

Songs of Experience 36 - Now with 20% fewer acronyms

I caught that as well. The Edge’s guitar in the beginning of Little Things is very reminiscent of Promenade, one of my favorites on UF.

The Little Things That Give You Away - Appreciation Thread

God, this song is simply gorgeous. Ethereal, emotional, the way it builds, and such a heartfelt lyric by Bono that hits right in the feels. Centerpiece of the album for sure and my favorite. Edge’s guitar work in the first half of the song reminds me of Promenade. Beautiful stuff. I love it.

Except it's not, at least on the US itunes (though I sure fucking wish it was!!!!!)

Book Of Your Heart (U2 saved the best for last)!

I know. I’m talking more about a possible release like “Songs of Innocence +” thats on iTunes which has Crystal Ballroom, Lucifers Hands and the acoustic/alternate versions of songs from that album. Maybe we’ll get something like that with SOE as well.

Book Of Your Heart (U2 saved the best for last)!

This is a great song but does sound like a b-side. Hopefully there’s a “Songs of Experience +” like the last album with this song and maybe another bonus track or two. No doubt there is other stuff from these sessions that’s just begging to be released!

SOE 34: If there is a leak, don't let it go unheard

Overall I’m loving what I’ve heard and feel this album is much stronger than anything post-2000 despite not having a “Beautiful Day” or “Vertigo”. It leaves the last two in the dust for me already. And I can’t wait to see how they re-create these songs live. Lots of layers and atmospherics going...
