    Going to my first concert.

The suggestion to avoid setlists is a great one. I avoided all of the setlists for this tour, and it was amazing for me when they played Ultraviolet because it's always been one of my favorite U2 songs and I had no idea they were going to play it. If I knew it was coming, I'd still have...

July 3rd 2010 Rogers Centre, Toronto, ON

That sounds about right for what you probably need to do - I got there just after 6:00 and was only about 3 deep on Adam's side, but the centre was really packed. I still can't believe I got 2 GA's today - didn't expect it at all!

    September 17th, 2009: Toronto (show 2)

Hey everyone, I just wanted to thank all of you for the various photos, videos and stories in this thread. This was such an awesome night and I'm glad most other people felt the same way! I had to jet out on a trip just a couple days after the show and so I've been playing catch-up on all the...

Are T-shirts still on sale at the end of the show?

Exactly my experience - if you can, go before the show! I had to wait in line for half an hour. Plus as has also been mentioned, some designs and sizes will sell out, although I was lucky and they had what I wanted.

Songs bland on CD Great Live

Staring At The Sun. I find the album version to be just okay, but in concert it always seems to be great - maybe it's the fact that the ones I've heard are acoustic versions. Whatever it is, I think it's a big difference.

Is there a fan line for shows there was NO presale for?

In Toronto the answer was YES and YES - there was a line and you showed your membership - but it seemed a little disorganized, and some people said it really didn't make much of a difference which line you were in. But I was in the 'normal' line, so all I know is what I heard from other people...

Anyone else want U2 to do a REAL "stripped down" tour?

The Elevation tour seemed fairly 'stripped down' to me - certainly moreso than the current tour. I think I know what the original post meant, and I'm fine with it - I didn't think the light curtains were anything special, and can live with or without that type of thing. But if you mean pulling...

Great story, thanks for sharing it!

U2 on Conan OBrien this Thursday... 10/6

Thank you for the heads up - I thought they were overdue for a late night appearance! :)

Has the Internet taken away from the live experience?

I'd say almost 100% NO . I've found sites like this are very helpful when it comes to finding out about GA lines, arena policies, etc., things that are good to know for going to the show. Finding out about this stuff can help improve the experience I have at the show. But when it comes to the...

Am I too old to buy a concert T-shirt?

I'm guessing I'm a little younger than you :) , but I say if you want it, get it! When I see people of all different ages who are fans of the band, I just think that's really neat. I think it's cool, and something to be proud of, not ashamed of. You don't need to wear it a lot if you don't...

Which would you prefer- Teleprompter or Solid Shows?

I think the imperfections and unexpected little problems during a show are part of what can make an experience great - so long as there aren't a crazy number of such events, of course! I'm with the large majority here, in that I'm amazed they're able to remember the lyrics to all these songs as...

Since U2 appear to be taking requests these days...

It's so hard to choose just 5, but it's easier than just one! That said, in no particular order, 1. With or Without You (I know, good chance it's played anyway, but it has to be there!) 2. Sometimes You Can't Make it On Your Own 3. Ultraviolet 4. Exit 5. Bad And for the encore, I'd like to...

    Fast Cars LIVE

I had no idea what this song was when I first heard it at the concert in Toronto on Saturday night. But it was awesome, and I'm falling in love with it! If anyone gets the version from Saturday, please mention it here or on the audio board! (I know it's only 2 days so far, I don't expect to...

Toronto IV Setlist Watch and Party, Part III - DO NOT POST U2.COM SETLIST! (

I'd just like to make a point for some of you - I'm probably not as hardcore as some of you guys are (not 'causal' though), but I'm still a big fan of this band. I got to see U2 from the floor for the first time ever last night, and I had a blast. Whereas before I might have figured the floor...

Any pics of Bono arriving on Saturday?

Missed being there by just a few minutes. :(

17th September Toronto - Air Canada Centre

Excellent show!!! It was my first time ever on the floor for U2, so I was looking forward to this for a VERY long time, and it's certainly didn't disappoint! First of all, a couple comments on Klink's review - I wasn't at the other 3 shows so I can't comment on the crowd there, but the crowd...

Vote for the lottery - ONLY if you had/have GA's

I'm in favour of the lottery. For me personally, I'm in a situation where I can get there really early to line up, but my companion may not be able to, so without the lottery I'd probably have very little chance of getting in the ellipse. At least this way there is hope. I understand the view...

    Toronto

I'm going to be lining up for the Saturday show - first time I've done this for a big band like U2. I can't wait! I have a question for you guys who've been there before - do you think that because it's a weekend show, there will be a lot more people getting there early since many people...

Worried about my side view tickets...

I also had side-view for Elevation, and the view was excellent! I wouldn't worry about it, you should be fine.

MERGED --> 411 please! What was the experience like.. + GA view from the BACK?

I'd also like to hear about this as well. I hope to get there reasonably early in the day but the show isn't until the fall, so who knows what could come up between now and then. Maybe the lack of response is because almost everyone here is the type that's near the front of the line!

MERGED --> ALL QUESTIONS/COMMENTS about the ELLIPSE HERE + "Ellipse" GA Policy U2.com

I have a question for those who saw a lot of shows from GA during Elevation. How serious was this problem of the 'same people' getting into the heart at show after show? Because from what I've read, it sounds like this is the most likely reason for the system that's being implemented now...

Are U2 "Abusing Their Position" With The Vertigo Tour?

I think this is very simple. Nobody is forced to buy a ticket to a U2 concert. Therefore, U2 can play whatever they want. They can play Mary Had A Little Lamb if they want to. However, if they play too many songs people don't like, then in the future fewer people will buy tickets...

Mathemetician in the house? What are actual odds of getting GA tix?

All I know is that not long after I got a pair of GA's, I went and bought a lottery ticket. Of course, at that point I had already won the lottery! Anyway, I'll give this a shot. Lets say there are 2000 GA's and a capacity of 20000 in the arena. So 10% of the total tickets sold were...

Is General Admission REALLY that great?

Are you trying to say something about Canadians here? Turning to the hockey analogy to explain something? I find that extremely, extremely stereotypical - but also quite correct! :D You analogy is actually very helpful - I think from what people are saying, I'm probably going to have to go...
