    manchester 1

I was in the third tier so could see the whole pitch and can confirm that there was a HUGE gap at the back of the GA pit. We couldn't understand it. Just before the show began, more people were allowed in, but they didn't fill it up. Could have held a few hundred more people comfortably. The...

MERGED --> Manchester times + A message from BSB

hang on, these times are always quoted. What usually happens is - the band comes on 15 minutes after they said they would (so make that 8.15-8.30) and finishes 15 mins later. All concerts I've ever been to have finished around 10.50pm

MERGED --> ALL Manchester discussion MEGATHREAD

I've been to the stadium today There were some geeky looking people stalking the place out looking like they are gonna be in line sooner rather than later. Funnily enough, they all seemed to be loners!! I have also been to the ASDA opposite, where I spoke to the manager. He warned me not to...

Finish this sentence but keep it 'U2'

...to take bono at his word when he sings "you can tear it up if you can tie me down" As I'm taller than he is, I'd give the tying him down my best shot..then I'd tear the whole bloody lot off......

    The Achtung/Zoo-Era Appreciation Thread

I was there, my friend. We bought the album and took it home expecting a Joshua moment, just sat at the kitchen table in stunned silence. Took a moment or two to register. Now think it's their best album

Please tell me its going to be ok

now here's a conversation that wouldn't even be allowed to happen on U2.com! I also want to see them retire. You know it's time to go when Larry is ageing too. Love the band, have followed them for 18 years, but I think they should go while they have just put out a decent album.

    Bono--please keep the shades off

Whatever next? Holding up signs "Bono, Love, Lose the Shades" or "Bono, Love, cut your hair", "Bono, stop colouring your hair, you look like Roy Orbison"????? I'm opting for "Bono lose the clothes" that would really do it for me:drool:

    The Achtung/Zoo-Era Appreciation Thread

I never made it to the joshua tree tour. I knew a man who had been there and for years I was dead jealous, felt I'd missed out on U2's finest moments cos I was only about 14 at the time, didn't have any money to go to a show. Looking back, I feel so lucky to have been part of the ZooTV...

    Sexual Messages in U2's Songs

Two songs I can't believe nobody has mentioned here... MOFO "wanna f*** you wanna suck you...rock and roll" and some apparently quite naughty lyrics on Velvet Dress that didn't make it to the album version...can anyone shed a light on this?
