    Taylor Swift - 1989

Why does anyone still give a shit about Odd Future in 2014? It's also rich that someone who made an entire career off of rape jokes is going to get outraged that a white girl put b-boys and twerking in her video.

For the Brooklyn shows, LCD Soundsystem cover with special guest James Murphy? One can dream. It's not like that guy is doing anything right now . . .

So, those feathers hopping in and out of the frame at the start and throughout belong to me (or rather the party mask I was wearing). I was almost certain they would do a Fugazi cover and super pumped to hear 'Waiting Room.' And it was actually a pretty solid rendition! Of course 90% of the...

Actually, I think he was emulating ODB at the start of the classic video for 'Triumph.' Perhaps he was expecting to be saved by Inspectah Deck (who is apparently imbued with the superpowers of both The Flash AND Spider-Man) Wu-Tang Clan featuring CappaDonna - Triumph - YouTube

We be The Infamous/You heard of us Tha Fork lays a well-deserved 10.0 on The Infamous reissue. This album never gets its due; the Holy Trinity of 90s NY hip-hop (36 Chambers/Ready to Die/Illmatic) really needs to be a Holy, um, Quad.

    A Thread About Girls (HBO)

I don't think Hannah was trying to intentionally throw off Adam before his show, I think that was her being self-centered as usual and not realizing it was about the worst possible time to drop that newsflash. The smile at the end was self-centered too, but I'm fully with her on it. At this...

Shosh this week was pure GIF magic And I give it about 2 episodes into next season before Hannah self-sabotages the Iowa writers workshop thing. This show is just too incapable of deviating from the status quo for that long.

    St. Vincent - Strange Mercy

Just saw a Verizon ad playing 'Birth in Reverse.' Music only. Kinda would have loved to hear "Take out the garbage/Masturbate" in a phone commercial.

I'm actually all for Rococo staying in the set. Musically it's still one of the band's more dynamic songs and the stupidity of the lyrics is dulled (or amplified?) as an arena sing-a-long. Whatever, I say it works.

And apparently heroin withdrawal just consists of having one intense dancing/crying session. Props to Jessa for repping Wu tho. And only a few weeks after they played Clan in Da Front in True Detective. Hopefully HBO also throws in some references when Game of Thrones starts back up. Also, my...

I showed up an hour before the doors just wanting to get a decent spot and ending up getting rail. Arcade Fire fans maybe aren't as devoted psychotic as u2 or Radiohead fans. Dan Deacon's set seemed like a lot of fun, kinda wanted to get my dance on but didn't want to give up my spot.

Toronto was off tha chain last nite. Special guest appearance by Mayor Ford. The regional cover was a Constantines song I had never heard. Was kind of hoping for 'Worst Behavior.' Muthafuckas neva loved Arcade Fire.

I liked that the show had an episode exploring Adam's sexual hangups. They were prominent in the last two seasons but seemed to be casually dropped and unacknowledged this season, as the show does with so many things (see: Adam's sister). I'm not sure I buy that Hannah's love cured him of being...

Not sure if anybody noticed with the True Detective finale happening and all, but this might have been the best episode of the season. The role-playing stuff was hilarious and Dunham & Driver had great awkward chemistry.

This week's episode actually reminded me of some older eps like One Man's Trash in that it felt more like a one-act play. Episodes like this would really benefit from being an hour long, a lot of character moments end up getting rushed where they'd be better unfolding organically. I do agree...

Ewww, you may have nailed why I'm not caring for this season. I feel like the first two seasons the show was trying to find its voice and that even when it made a misstep, it was still interesting. The word that keeps coming up this season is 'sitcom-y' which I think does apply in the sense that...
