Who Should Induct U2 and WHY!!

With U2 being inducted into the hall of fame, I feel nothing can be as appropriate as Bono inducting U2. lol. But SERIOUSLY, since that will be an unlikelihood, it would be interesting to see Bob Dylan, Martin (but I wouldn't bet on it), and oh, how comedic, Bono's Doppelanger.* *Sorry if I...

So what would you say about this set of lyrics? Your opinion about the choice of lyrics.

which band do u think sound most like U2?

Duran Duran's "Reach Up For The...." sounded a lot like a "Beautiful Day"-ish song. However, there are no bands that come close to U2 as a band - in terms of their entire catalogue. There are just some songs you could envision U2 doing.

    Is there an afterlife?

To be rational is to be agnostic and to take the view that we don't know. However, being an irrational individual myself, I believe in an afterlife, since I feel, and this is why I feel many humans do who choose to instead of being allowed to be guided by their parents, peers, so forth, that...

I just started "The Dancing Wu Li Masters" by Zukav and am not very impressed by his approach to Quantum Mechanics, what he calls "the new physics." ladywithspinninghead what is the subject of the "Seat of the Soul"?

Let's hope the family of the world's greatest guitarist is alright. We're with you all the way Edge... After the tsunami and now this, lets hope U2 will pull through everything to enjoy a fruitful year.

so I see you're reading huh?

Oh, I've read Catcher in the Rye, ribbons&bows, and that's actually my second favorite literary work after Winesburg. As for Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, that's just hilariously brilliant on the part of Adams. If anyone here ever asks what's the meaning of it all - life,... - read this...

so I see you're reading huh?

I thought it would be interesting if everyone posted what they're reading or just finished reading and whether or not they'd recommend the work to others. Personally I just finished reading Winesburg, Ohio by Sherwood Anderson. I'd gladly recommend it to anyone in this forum and even go as far...

Bono's lyrical and U2's musical influences?

I've read Yeats and what's amazing is everytime I read "Sailing to Byzantium" and explicate it, I feel like I've just listened to Beautiful Day all over again -- especially the song live, when Bono is repeating "the goal, the goal is soul." Interesting...

Will we lose 'Kite' on this new tour?

I take my post back, I think I found a way of keeping Kite in the tour. Check my setlist under the thread U2 Live inquiries ... and tell me whatcha think. Cool.

U2 Live inquiries - No we wont lose Kite on this tour

I sat around today and played with possible setlist combinations, and came across a way to prevent the loss of that favorite song Kite. Except that the set is a bit long I think it could be a likelihood and is very reasonable in terms of playable material without losing the essence of U2 Live...

    Best of the Best Setlist

sorry but I agree with most people REPLYING to this post -- that setlist is not the best. Speaking of it's impressions upon me, I feel it would probably be a good way to start a thread called "The Worst of Worst Setlists." Im jokin about the last comment, but I just thought it would be a funny...

Opening song not from new album....T

Vertigo would probably be the opening track on most nights as Elevation was for the previous tour. The claim that Love and Peace or Else could be a possible opening song (as mentioned in the other thread Reasonable Setlists) is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Sorry, but I feel very strongly...

This is definitely questionable as a good choice of lyrics.

yay! i wrote a political poem!

I'm sure it does sound better to music. It would be interesting to find out how the music goes though. I just gave my criticism in terms of it as a poem and not as a song. Again, criticizing songs is different, because as Bono says, and I believe, "a feeling's so much stronger than a thought" so...

Will we lose 'Kite' on this new tour?

Yeah, I think it's a lock that Kite is pretty much gone. I mean could anyone list a reasonable setlist in the HTDAAB Tour setlist thread that could contain Kite? I tried through possibilities and thinking of integrating the song in the setlist I came up with and I couldn't. I believe none of the...
