Bush can promise the moon, but it's the conservative congress who actually writes the checks... and I think they don't want to... Bono is increasing the pressure, though...

I heard on tonight's news that congress knocked 1/3 out of the money Bush promised for African Aids relief next year...... no wonder Bono wants to kick dustcan lids......

Somehow I just can't visualize our very conservative Congress (who hold the paycheck in this country) listening to a rock star who has long hair and the beginnings of a beard.. It just doesn't, well, rock.........

It appears our button-down conservative congress does not want to cough up the money Bush promised... actually, the check hasn't been written yet, and the check hasn't been cashed yet..........
