not true. Not true at all, rougerum. Perhpas that rule is true if you are writing dialogue - but not anything else! How is one supposed to call up any sort of imagery or feeling if he/she is not allowed to use the more specific, multi-syllable words that one doesnt use in everyday...

Personally, i think my WORST poems are the ones i keep for myself. They are filled with all this stupid self-pity or whatever you want to call it and the words "me, mine, I, you" are just used to the point where they dont mean anything anymore and thats one thing i dont like about some poetry. all right. Ill do your little test. Right now I have this idea for a poetry thing, but see, Ive just now gotten into writing poetry and I can say that I probably wouldnt put any of the stuff I have written into the book/idea/thing i have simply because I know I am getting better all the time...
