    MERGED --> inTO the Heart: U2 Fan Fest 2004 + BP Fallon...for ITH 04! + hello...

    Hey all! Been quite some time since I've posted here. As I may have mentioned b4, I'm relatively new to Toronto - I'm from the US and have taken a job up here just out of school. Anyway, I'm all registered for the Into the Heart fan fest next month and was wondering if anyone was interested...

    Zooropa in the summer time

    For me, it's a winter album. Dark themes, dark sound. Not to say I don't love it nonetheless. U2's first 3 albums are summer albums.

    U2 sound alike song: chorus: "we will still need a song, ...to carry our love away..

    U2 sound alike song: chorus: "we will still need a song, ...to carry our love away.. Wow, just heard this song on the radio- chorus line goes something like this "we will still need a song, ...to carry our love away, to carry away..." Sounds soooooo U2ish. As a diehard fan, i instantly knew...

    With the talk of a new producer, I wonder...

    I think either they've become overly obsessed with trying to make the perfect record or that there is serious internel friction. I wouldn't be suprised if years from now this is described by the band as another one of those times they almost broke up.

    Songs most representative of thieir album/era

    This thread goes along the lines of the one about "typical" U2 songs. Seeing as there are so many different eras and styles of U2, I would ask, what song off each respective album is representative of the direction the band is trying to go musically, and the bounderies they're trying to push on...

    "The Sun The Moon The Stars"

    Maybe I'm just a gullible fool, but I truly believe Bono posted this. Hard to believe? Why? Like others have said, he obviously has access to the net and knows about interference. And the nature of the post ("Greetings funny humans", "Mangos for everyone") is something Bono would say if he were...

    Did you ever have misconceptions about U2?

    Great thread! I became a casual fan around 1990 when I first heard "Boy". I was 10 at the time. For the next 3 years, I thought that was the only album they ever released and that they were some no name band that faded away into oblivion. Then I started listining to the radio a lot and realized...

    Bono voice ('84 was when changes started)

    Good feedback. Interesting opinions about Bono's singing peaking in the late '80s. Thing is, I was talking about Bono's voice apart from his skill as a singer. Clearly, by the late 80s he had a lot more skill as a singer. This helped him compensate for the toll smoking was having. I also...

    Bono voice ('84 was when changes started)

    Just been reading some of the posts discussing the decline in Bono's voice. I find it interesting how most fans site the mid 90s (between zoo and Pop) as the time when this change happened. From what I understand Bono has been smoking for most of his career. Bono's voice began changing after...
