I think either they've become overly obsessed with trying to make the perfect record or that there is serious internel friction. I wouldn't be suprised if years from now this is described by the band as another one of those times they almost broke up.

This thread goes along the lines of the one about "typical" U2 songs. Seeing as there are so many different eras and styles of U2, I would ask, what song off each respective album is representative of the direction the band is trying to go musically, and the bounderies they're trying to push on...
