    Favourite Zooropa Song?

Zooropa is their best opening song after WTSHNN. It's the best song on a brilliant album.

Not so original of the species!

There's a definite reference/allusion to WTSHNN at the end. Short enough to be a reference, not long enough to be a rip-off.

Let's take a poll on your favorite new song

"City" by a fiber of Edge's skull cap over "Original."

    should u2 quit on top?

Should they quit while on top? Probably. But few ever do, and why would U2 be one of those few? They can't both be awesome and prescient, can they? Besides, we've yet to experience the power of old U2. C'mon, Irish folk songs and Christmas albums!

Somebody please explain the UF comparisons?

Album title-wise, there are some interesting connections. The Unforgettable Fire is a reference to the dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima during World War II. And HTDAAB, well, that explains itself. Also, HTDAAB marks, give or take a month, the 20th anniversary of UF. Production-wise...

    I am disapointed in HTDAAB

These are all good points. HTDAAB is excellent now. Who knows 10 years in the future? "Yahweh" is a good tune. It'd be interesting to hear Bono 15 years ago sing this -- then it'd be great. Or even (perhaps) another singer who can carry the chorus better. Bono sounds strained here, but if...

    Zooropa Rocks Thread

Zooropa's been flying under the radar (to casual music fans, thought it did win critical praise at the time) for over 10 years and it just keeps getting better and better. Awesome album. Refuses to be easily categorized. Zooropa the song is a perfect complement to WTSHNN -- on the other side...

    Is Joshua Tree overated?

In fact, there are ambitious fans out there who've put together what they call 'restored' versions of The Joshua Tree, including the B-sides from that album. The band was definitely at the height of their powers then, and it was quite a fertile period. The original 11-song JT is in no way...

    U2 Life span.

We should not be afraid of U2 getting old. For one thing, the boys from Dublin have yet to release an Irish folk music album. They've also haven't done a holiday-themed release or covers of old show tunes. Really, can Original Soundtracks No. 2 be that far behind? Then there are the...

How far have you/would you go to see U2?

One can only hope to see U2 in space. U2, in their frenzy to acquire more corporate tie-ins, will team up with Richard Branson and offer the first rock concert in space aboard a Virgin Galactic spacecraft. William Shatner will do a spoken word version of The Wanderer. Perhaps not for the...

    Adam is the coolest

I think Adam would enjoy making a chocolate souffle.

    Slane or Elevation dvd?

Thought Slane would be disappointing simply for the omission of Bad, but it's still the better concert if only because of Out of Control. The band's in top form on that one. Musically, U2's overall performance is better at the Slane concert. Their playing is relaxed and confident. All I...

    Adam is the coolest

Adam does not have to be cool to be COOL. (Note his POWER on If You Wear That Velvet Dress. 'Nuff said.)
