    New Album Rumors?

Just a thought on the leftovers and B-sides theory. Don't most of us already have this stuff? I think it might make sense to do an oficial release of those tunes, especially the leftovers like Smile, Mercy, Love You Like Mad, for the mass audience. But won't a lot of us be disappointed?

Why Original Of The Species Will Fail

Not really the subject, but why not ABOY. I think it has some of the most clever lyrics Bono's ever written and it rocks. Seems like an ok choice to me. OOTS would be a bolder choice, I think a better one too. After all, Hey Jude was one of The Beatles bigger singles.

Are You Gonna Wait Forever Appreciation

I love this song and i wish it had found a place on the album. It seems like so many B-sides have a looser, more fun vibe than a lot of the album material - thinking Sweetest Thing, Salome, Holy Joe here- and I wish they would show that a little more. Also, AMAAW could never be unfairly...

    Mercy

Awesome song, but something does seem off in the arrangment, though I couldn't explain what. As much as I love it, I doubt it will ever be more than what it is. Its been so widely downloaded and talked about that I doubt the band would want to do more with it. Just curious... does anyone...

What Is U2's Best Live Acoustic Song?

Yahweh! This so is suprisingly deep, and the live version gives it a new dimension. I think this is a good example of what Bono means when he says they oftentimes discover the songs when they play them live.

    B-sides appreciation thread

    Lifelong Detention of GITMO Prisoners?

Without getting into the whole "what if we release a terrorist who later blows something up" debate, which would take a day of typing and thinking to explain, I'd like to make a slightly off topic observation. How do you think history will judge these actions? If its true that those who win...

wtf was u2 thinking releasing fast cars instead of xanax n wine, the song is clearly

I'm really suprised by how many people now like Fast Cars better than Xanax & Wine. About a month ago, it was completely turned around and it seemed everyone was down on them for releasing Fast Cars instead of Xanax. For me, Xanax & Wine is a much better song, I think it would have been one of...

    What's best album ending song????

Yahweh- I don't know why exactly, maybe cause it leaves me wanting more. Wake Up Dead Man might have made it for me had it closed a better album

Lincoln: America's Greatest President; also, Totally Gay!

I love rewriting history!! Its quite grand to live in a time such as ours, when we are so socially, culturally and scientifically advanced that we can judge the entire course of human history by our own, correct standards. Saying that Lincoln is gay is problematic at best. First, it assumes...

Best u2 song that never was released as a single!

Ultraviolet would have been a great single. Not as good a song as some of the others, but a better single.

    I just had a REVELATION...

just finished downloading this for what its worth, I think Hoodlem is definitly on to something here. I don't know if we can ever have a definitive answer unless fake Edge drops in here, but it definitly sounds like a very early version of Walk On to me. Way to go Hoodlem. Your ear's way...

    An in-tour album in 2006?

Mybe the next album will take longer than four years, since so many of the unfinished ideas they might have used are in the digital box set. I'm hopeful for 2006, though. I'm thinking that very soon they're going to start unloading a lot of albums pretty quick as they feel age starting to...
