Nope, not making it up!
From Craig Rosen's R.E.M. Inside Out:
"In recognition of their support, Courtney Love presented the band with a lime green Fender guitar designed by Cobain. R.E.M. put the guitar, which had to be restrung for a right-handed player, to good use during the Monster tour...
My username is chaos_follower, but honestly I rarely ever post their anymore. I guess when the layout changed I haven't had the time to learn how to properly navigate around there anymore. It's also been slow in actual R.E.M. news in the past year or so and it seems like the forums there are...
Here's a live version just for you!
I Wanted To Be Wrong (Live from St. James Church, London, 2004)

This is kinda related to this thread, but if you guys didn't know already, Michael started the In The Sun Foundation to raise money for the rebuilding of the gulf coast region. He's releasing a charity EP on iTunes on Monday with 6 different versions of the Joseph Arthur song In The Sun. You...
Yep, from Fables! They started playing it again during the 2003 Greatest Hits Tour and it became a regular in the second half of the tour. It also closed the main sets of most of the US shows for the Around the Sun tour in 2004. Definitely one of their best live songs.
Great thread! R.E.M. will always be my favorite band regardless of the direction they choose to go (although I seem to be in the minority here because I love Up  and Reveal and don't mind Around The Sun). Thought I'd contribute to the sharing of live tracks, so here's a favorite of...
The US iTunes music store just released three live concerts from their summer '04 Au Naturale tour. Two of the shows feature new songs "What A Let Down" and "Bull In A China Shop" and one has an amazing version of the oldie "Lilac Girl". God I love this band
Chicago 4 for me, hands down. It was my third show of the tour and first time scanned into the ellipse (right in front of Edge!). Tour debut of Until the End of the World (which happens to be my favorite song) and my first time experiencing Bad. It was also the first time they closed with it...
BNL were my first favorite band and continue to be one of my favorites. They were my first concert in the summer of '99 and I just saw them in Chicago about two weeks ago. As previously mentioned in this thread, their live shows are terrific and along with great performances, they add an...
Discotheque! Why oh why did I choose to go to 9/21 instead of 9/20? One show off!
Oh well, I just consider myself lucky for being able to see them at 4 shows this tour, regardless of what they played.
