    Tribute Bands?

PS I like how on Zoo Station's website they say it's like recreating the small club U2 experience so many of us missed. And i'm old enough to have gone to the Paradise in Boston for that legendary show, but I was not musically sophisticated yet. Too bad.(didn't get to see them until 1987)

    Tribute Bands?

I saw Zoo Station at Britannia Arms in San Jose last night. It was the 1st time I saw them and they were great! The fans were a kick, dancing and singing along, it was so fun. My hubby liked Barely Larry's drumming, he said it was very creative. He is wondering if it was left-handed or is the...

When Did You Know U2 Had a Christian Who Wrote the Lyrics?

"To claim the victory Jesus won on Sunday Bloody Sunday" Which I didn't notice the earlier times I listened to it. If you listen to In the Name of Love CD in which Christian bands sing U2 cover songs, the band which does Sunday Bloody Sunday, emphasizes the above lyric a lot more. I had a...

    Our Minister Of Music, Bono

Yes, I really felt the 11/8 concert as a communion of sorts, not just a concert, but a spiritual experience.

WHY DO NON U2 FANS HATE Bono?

I agree! Also, I think people are afraid of emotion.People would rather have ironic detached music.(that's why I didn't like Bono's 90s persona, a reaction to the drubbing he got in the 80s, I'm glad he is not afraid now)Or they are so cynical about the world that when Bono comes and persuades...

    bruce cockburn

U2 quoted one of his songs in their song "God Part 2": "gonna kick the darkness 'til it bleeds daylight" I love that line. His album from 2002 "anything anytime anywhere' is a nice compilation of his singles from 1979-2002

It's about their spiritual life and the songs and the concerts in that context.

I am reading "walk On, the spiritual journey of U2"

I'm reading it too. I had to get it after the heart-opening concert I went to in November

Bono as an idol, CoeXisT and Bono's faith

I was thinking of Bono as idol...during and after the concert I really was admiring him, his charisma, his humility, etc. But I don't want to idolize him too much. It's like the Buddhists are not worshipping the Buddha, they are supposed to use Buddha images as a way to tap into the Buddha's...

Bono as an idol, CoeXisT and Bono's faith

I can agree with that! As was said before, these are sons of Abraham...so one would think they would get along well. But, no,they have not.Now is the time for coexistence! After experiencing the November 8 concert, this was what I came away with: if we could shed our separation and act as one...

    City of whining songs ?

It was not my favorite song, but the concert I went to on November 8th opened with it and it was so touching."OH, you look so beautiful tonight"Bono sang and we sang this back to him.I just felt so grateful, the happiness in the arena made us all beautiful.

I fantasized All I Want is You for the dance, alas, we married at the last minute at the courthouse and did not have a conventional reception. I agree, Drowning Man is good, too
