Heartland is one of my favorite U2 songs. It was in the progress of being written during the end of the Joshua Tree sessions and was finished for Rattle & Hum. Everything about the entire song just sends shivers down my spine. The music, the vocal, the lyrics. I love that song so much

Best thing I've heard them do in ages. Ok it's a cover, but they sound real good.

I think it is the entire track, but there is also some overdubbed acoustic guitar on there as well as Bono's improvised vocals.

From recollection, the entire musical backing track to EPAA is just A Sort of Homecoming slowed down and played backwards. Brian Eno then got Bono to improvise lyrics over the top of it on a first listen. It wasn't a work in origress song or anything. It was purely a studio experiment.

I played a gig with The Doppelgangers, who were the Official U2 tribute Band for a while. They were also in the video Even Better Than The Real Thing. From recollection they weren't too bad either. Some of these though are just plain dreadful. You probably shouldn't single any particular ones...
