    About U2 : Staging/Production - Elevation Tour *

Couple of minor nits, but for accuracy's sake... The Clay Lacy owned 727 is actually a 727-51, though for all intents and purposes it's basically the same as a -100 (externally at least). FWIW, the same jet used to be the Utah Jazz charter, and has also been used by the Discovery Network. The...

Looking for U2 tour jet pics.... anybody?

Well that's... confusing. Thanks a bunch, LivLuvAndBootlegMusic, but are there any captions for those pics at all (location?!?), 'cause there's a few things that seem a bit odd. Based on the number on the jet in the last pic, it LOOKS like it'd be N502MG (all the MGM Grand jet serial numbers...

Looking for U2 tour jet pics.... anybody?

I guess I should have said prior to PopMart; I'm reasonably well covered for the PopMart jet with the DVD and a couple of pics from Willie's Diary. I think most of the pics here so far were saved from the last go-round on this subject. :) I'd kind of hoped something might have come to light...

Looking for U2 tour jet pics.... anybody?

Yeah, I know, it's a bit of a long shot... Anyone here have (or know where one might find) some decent shots of any of U2's tour jets - particularly those used during PopMart and tours previous? Heck, at this point, I'd even be happy with a small, blurry, grainy, out of focus snapshot...

    I am sick of f'ing suicide/homicide bombers!!!

Yeah, let's bomb the suicide bombers. That'll teach 'em. 'Course, that's what the IDF/AF has been trying to do for fifteen years now, with astonishing success, and ancillary casualties... Oh, and incidentally, that's a C-Eagle. Not A2G equipped. You'll probably want to edit the pic again...

    If It's A Carolina/San Jose Final, I Will...

Yup, and they're having a hog-calling competition on Saturday night, so the game's been bumped, which gives the Leafs an extra day's rest between games 1 and 2. Now that's what I call a hockeytown! Their fans ARE awful loud, though.

Happy Waitsday. Join in the celebration

I know there's a few fans of Tom Waits here, so... It seems strange, after such long spans between Waits albums to now have not one, but two new releases a scant three years after Mule Variations. Not only that, but he's going on Letterman, again, on Wednesday (8 May). Tom doing a bit of a...

Team Canada hockey players to call your own...

http://www.spawn.com/news/news020412a.html A heads up to anyone who may be interested, McToys is doing a commemorative set of Team Canada figures for sale up in the Great White North. Unfortunately, it looks like they won't come with medals.

Can someone explain Tom Waits to me?

Tom's actually a got great voice - most of the stuff from Swordfishtrombones and subsequent albums are just heavily distorted. As mentioned, his early stuff is much softer - it's basically jazz/trubadour, with the odd beat poetry track thrown in. Of course, even today it really isn't any more...

U2 Live at Red Rocks is on TV this weekend................ on PBS?!?

I'm in no way trashing PBS - as I said, I was watching it when the promo came on. It just doesn't seem very Rock and Roll, especially as PBS has the image of being the icon of stuffy literati throughout North America. All the concerts I've ever seen PBS stations play are either classical...

Of course, you COULD have just consulted the manual(s).

U2 Live at Red Rocks is on TV this weekend................ on PBS?!?

How very... odd. The 'local' PBS station is in the middle of a pledge drive, and during their between-shows-promo-break, they have commercials for three upcoming beg-a-thon specials: the Roy Orbison celebrity concert dealie from '88, followed by the three Mowtown Tenors followed by...U2...

Is the Music Industry Killing the Single?

I was going to post a (kinda) similar thread the other day, but the site crashed as I was hitting the submit button. Whatever happened to the "mini" single? Back in the day, albums were on 12" vinyl, and singles... weren't. They were small, they were distinct, they were cool. Albums were...
