'Miracle Drug' & 'Xanax & Wine' - anyone else think they may be different songs?

They're different songs, yeah. I'm actually not sure what happened to Xanax and Wine. I thought it was a good song musically and lyrically.

    Where is Ignoreland?

Ha interesting theories, both; but no, the band was never upset or anything that I shared a little bit of information with their most faithful fans. And no, I was never annoyed at anyone here (why should I have been??) and I'm a little bit surprised to learn that I annoyed Martha and others...

Red Ships of Scalla-Festa, let's talk about the new album

Mug222 and I are one and the same; I can't recall anymore why I felt the need to create another username. Anyway, I really can't remember the demos well enough to comment on them anymore. All I remember is that "All Because of You" made me think of Television and Richard Hell + the Voidoids...

    Edge talks the new album..

I'm not sure if this is in response to me, but I explained on this board my thoughts on "All Because of You" almost 5 months ago, when I heard the then-current version of it. It was terrifically good.

    Edge talks the new album..

The demo I heard of All Because of You was SOOO fucking good. It was the best U2 song I've heard since Gone, but I really hope that they don't overanalyze and ultimately muddle it up with production. That, I think, is the most problematic possibility at this point.

    Super Furry Animals

I've been a fan of SFA for several years now. Radiator and Rings Around the World are my two favorite albums, but their live show is something else entirely. Catch it if you can. p.s. Bono's a fan as well.

    Beck's Sea Change

A definite, definite regression from Mutations but still pretty nice.

Do You Think U2 Plan Their "Leaks"?

I can't speak for pre-ATYCLB...but that album was most certainly not intentionally leaked. As for Electrical Storm: Paul McGuiness "flipped his lid" when he heard it was leaked--that is, until Bono admitted it was by him :) That should indicate something. These conspiracy theories are always...

    What are Bono's favorite bands?

Regarding recent work, Bono appreciates (among many others) Wilco, solo Frank Black, and the Flaming Lips.

Rumor Mill Churning About New U2 Recording

Re: Re: Rumor Mill Churning About New U2 Recording don't worry, 'all because of you' couldn't sound farther from today's throwaway pop. in the state i heard it, it could fit seamlessly onto Marquee Moon...built around a simple but beautiful riff. bono couldn't find the rehearsal tape to...

    The Weakerthans!

I've loved this album since it came out...

    Trying to discover new music...

Joy Division is terrific, along with many of the other post-punk bands of the same era, including (with suggested album in parenthesis): Pere Ubu (Modern Dance) Gang of Four (Entertainment) Minutemen (Double Nickels on the Dime) Wire (Pink Flag) The Slits (Cut) Public Image Lit (First Edition...
