U2 and Music Information
Favourite U2 songs (aside from Bad and Ultraviolet): Love Comes Tumbling, Heartland, The Unforgettable Fire, Zoo Station, Zooropa, Lemon, Some Days Are Better Than Others, Dirty Day, Do You Feel Loved, If You Wear That Velvet Dress, Like A Song, Seconds, An Cat Dubh/Into The Heart, Surrender, Until the End of the World, So Cruel, Original of the Species, New York, In A Little While, God Part II, In God's Country, Night and Day, A Sort of Homecoming, The Fly, Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around the World, Mofo, Magnificent, Fez-Being Born, Peace on Earth, When I Look At The World... Of course I love the Joshua Tree classics, but they're almost like wallpaper these days - they're always there. They almost don't count.
Favorite U2 Album
Achtung Baby with Zooropa and The Unforgettable Fire trailing close behind.
Favorite U2 Song
Must there be one? Bad vs. Ultraviolet (Light My Way). That's too tough, despite being too cliché.
Been a U2 fan since
1993
Prized item in U2 collection
I'd say my Elevation Tour 2001 ticket stub signed by Adam Clayton, although these days I'd have to say my old 1993 cassettes where I recorded snippets of Zoo TV banter on the radio - DJ's discussing the "new U2 song Numb", that Bono "turned 33 today"
Favorite U2 lyrics
I've never focused on any set U2 lyrics... for me U2 is about the entire mood of the song. Of course, they all have their times and places. Some lyrics are truly cheesy, but when they're good, it kind of speaks for itself...
Favorite U2 band members
Bono, although there has always been a soft spot for the Edge. And yet, I have a strange feeling I'd get along the best with Adam. Larry? He has enough fans.
I was introduced to U2 by
I was 12 and was at that stage in my life where I discovering my own taste in music. Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses was on the radio once and I never got it out of my head. I requested Achtung Baby as a gift which I received (in cassette format).
U2 shows I've seen
Three shows, all in Vancouver. First one was PopMart in November, a few months after Michael Hutchence died. I witnessed the extravagence of the mirror ball lemon, a bald Bono, and Never Tear Us Apart.

Second show was the most memorable on Friday the 13th in April 2001 at GM Place. Waited in General Admission line all day, met Adam Clayton (Bono and Edge were a few feet away), got "inside the heart" and experienced my first intimate U2 concert. I think I had tears in my eyes.

Last show was also in Vancouver in April of 2005 at GM Place for the Vertigo show. Underwhelming in comparison to the last two, although I got the worst seats in the house behind the stage.

I'm hoping my fourth U2 show at BC Place will be fun, but BC Place is awful - it's an echo chamber!
Have you met U2?
I was able to briefly meet Adam Clayton outside of Vancouver's GM Place during an autograph session (I saw the rest of the members, but only met Adam). I have yet to experience a true U2 meeting!
