Commentators have a lot to do with the broadcasting too. I watched a couple of La Liga matches on GolTV, and I love soccer, but I couldn't stand how lifeless some the announcers were. Nothing is worse than an announcer that puts you to sleep. But then again, you just have to grow up with it, I...

It didn't work when they tried to "bring soccer to the US" with Pele in the 70s, and it's not gonna work now. As for Beckham, well, he'll sell Galaxy merchandise and they'll give Hollywood a go as planned. All I know is, it's gonna be a very very awkward locker room, payroll and all.

I know, the potential for a decent Canadian team is there, so it'll probably happen in a few years. I was surprised Toronto FC has so much support. The fan support is definitely there if the team delivers. It'll be nice to see a few friendlies with some European teams here.

Toronto FC is catching on, 'cause it's about time Toronto had a football team. There are a lot of footy fans here from all leagues which is pretty amazing for a North American city. Hope they do well. All people who think footy is boring probably only caught the premier league! :wink:

Take a wild guess! :wink: And I think comparing American football and football and saying one is better than other is just ridiculous. It's like comparing leagues, just creates a lot of tension and it gets nowhere. People like different sports....get over it! :)

It's just a nature of a big club, more coverage (esp. globally), more money + well known players hence supporters everywhere. Actually, come to think of it, if I was still in Germany, I would've grown out of Bayern support and gone for a more local club. (Not to say that all big club supporters...

Congrats. Well deserved they were the most consistent team in the Prem League this season (well except against Arsenal ofcourse :) ).
