I've heard a strong source from a reliable rumor that they intend to cap the year off by remastering Rattle & Hum and release Heartland as a single. Kind of makes sense due to Edge hinting at it during the interview video.

Looks like some form of marketing is starting, this was outside the stadium at tonight's gig

Anyone could have done that, but I wouldn't be surprised.

That can't be true.

In all seriousness, I wonder if we'll get a re-release in 2018 for the 30th anniversary of RH? There is a lot of material that could be used for the 2nd disc. Shitload of B-sides, Bono version of Mystery Girl, Jesus Christ (shudders), Wild Irish Rose, etc. Also, they could bundle a live show from LT in it. By God we need a fucking DVD from the LT TOUR!

Do it at the end of the year, just in time for Christmas. RH was released towards the end of 1988 anyway so it'd work.

I'm so happy The Best Thing is real! No let's hope it sounds somewhat like what the DJ remix sounded like and they don't ruin it on the album. I can also see this song being ever better on the album or good in 10 different ways like EBW is.

What.

Don't believe that at all lol

There's not gonna be any heartland single Rattle and hum may get a box set Someday but They've prepared to single and a new album to be released in the next few months, Theyre not going to confuse people by releasing a single from 1988 in the middle of that. Tell your source to stop believing everything they hear's or cough up where he's hearing it from. Because starting rumors like this is only going to anger a fan base that should be eagerly awaiting new material

Usually when folks try and start a rumor, they make up one that has a minuscule shred of credibility to it.

No, this one doesn't have a shred of anything that makes sense to it.

So they're using footage from an album revival tour, from a song on another old album, to be used for a video for a song that hasn't even been played yet.

Weird.

I agree that using footage from this tour to promote new music is... weird. It's like if the video for The Miracle used footage from 360.

Have to say - it seems more likely that they are preparing two film clips because they are (or at least were until recently) unsure which will be the first single, and want to enjoy their month off between tour legs.

The double A side theory is exciting, but highly unlikely IMO. Would be great if they did it though.

I don't know about you all, but that graffiti screams guerrilla marketing to me.

Yeah, they did something similar in London back in March to promote JT30.

Galeongirl, I don't recall anybody asking you the single most important question about the Blackout shoot/secret gig:

What sunglasses was Bono wearing?!
