I believe it's time to bring out the old gif again.

:lol::lol::lol:

one of my favs!!!

I'm not surprised that there is a little buzz about a new album here, (it hasn't even warranted a thread of it's own or anything I don't think?), but I don't think I'll be in the huge OMG YAY category until there's something a bit more concrete. One U2 member talking about future albums does not = a new U2 album.

I remember being so depressed at the idea of a new album while I was in school because I knew I wasn't going to be able to see them live. It sucked seeing everyone make new friends, travel, and see the band while I wasn't able to do so.

Ugh, I know that feeling. I love hearing people's stories about shows they go to and meeting other fans (and, in the luckiest cases, the actual artists themselves), I really do. I'm glad that people are having a good time and loads of fun and having nice experiences. And when I hear about people meeting the artists themselves, and they're talking about how cool and friendly the people are, that's my favorite thing ever, because first off, yay, I like an artist who's a good person instead of a jerk! And second, because there can be some hilarious, adorable, funny stories with that stuff that are so fun to read.

But when you're not able to be part of that fun? Yeah, it's also a little bit depressing to read that stuff sometimes.

I'm with the others, Grace, your reasons are extremely logical and 100% understandable. You gotta focus on what's most important to you right now, that makes complete sense. I'm pretty sure U2 would understand ;). Hehe.

For myself, though, I will say this: If this U2 news does indeed pan out, and we do get an actual album and tour later this year/early next year, I WILL be doing everything in my power to try and get tickets to see them live. I want to see them at least once in my lifetime, damnit! And if I do get lucky enough to see them, and anyone else here happens to be going to the same show as me, let me know, I would love to finally be part of a meetup with you girls.

Larry being the one to "break" all this news does have me a little bit more intrigued, so I'm cautiously excited. But I won't start truly freaking out until everything is completely and totally confirmed and the album has a date and the promos start up and all that jazz. Then I'll run around my house flailing with glee :D.

Just got downloaded a bunch of new music on my Itunes account <3
Huuraah for Snow Patrol, Depeche, Muse and some various summery vibing or awesome other tracks to keep me calm until then.

 I approve of this list of bands.

Where do you find this stuff, JJ?

Agreed. I'm not excited at this point, though - I'm mainly just intrigued. I've felt so MEH about them for the last year that it will take me a while to even get excited. But like you said, that won't be happening until an album date is out.

I have come down with the plague of doom that everyone around here seems to be catching. :sigh: I am normally very healthy, but when I get sick (once a year, if that), then I get SIIIIIICK. It's been going on for almost a week now. I am SO glad that it's Friday tomorrow so that I can have some extra time off to sleep and recover more.

Exactly. Haven't felt "meh" about them, myself, but it's definitely been a while since I've listened to some U2 (aside from the obvious "hearing them on the radio/seeing them on TV" moments). It's been so quiet that I've been discovering new artists and listening to other more active favorites as a result. So it'll be kinda fun to use this as an excuse to revisit my U2 fandom again :).

Yeah, that's been going around all over the place. Lot of co-workers of mine have been out lately, too, and my mom's been sick the last couple days as well (so far I've been lucky *Knocks wood*). Sorry to hear you're sick-take care, rest up, and hope you get better as soon as possible .

*sends Larry over to Thora's with a big hot bowl of vegetable soup* :sexywink:

:reject: Unless that makes you feel even sicker.. :sigh:

Then sorry! Feel better!!!

Yes please to both of those! Haha. Both sound delicious.

And thanks. My goal is just to make it through work tomorrow, then I'm sure I will collapse for the rest of the weekend and just sleep.

***HEALING VIBES*** to thora, ML's mom and anyone else!

i'll have see your photoshop work when i get on the better computer, GG, just the
bluecsquare with ? mark at home.

Well my u2 fandom is always active to some degree or other. AND i love to be able to HEAR more new music. I READ ALOT alot about bands/music sometimes way more than i get to hear!

For about 18 months (08 -10?) or a bit more we had a station that played alot of new music!! And I got to put alot of music to names at last!
When i moved to The Bronx i finally remebered to relisten to a Fordham Univ (where U2 debuted live NLOTH songs ) station that has indie/alt music at some times . THAT helped, but i've been forgetting it tthe whole past year plus. :grumpy:

Sounds good, Thora. Hope you can get through work okay tomorrow.

Also, thanks, Dazz .

This is how I tend to be sometimes, too. I'm never one of the first people to hear about a band, I always get around to discovering them after they've been around a number of years. I usually wind up stumbling across artists that I become a fan of in my own weird ways.

There's a lot of artists I've heard of, or have a slight familiarity with (know a couple of their songs here and there and that sort of thing), that I'd love to check out further-I'm always up for discovering new music. What I'd like to do more of, too, is branch out more and hear music from genres I don't listen to as much. I've got my own little niche genres and styles I tend to love, and I'll always love them, but it'd be neat to expand my horizons a bit on that front, so to speak.

I'm asking here since I don't need an onslaught of people who annoy me asking, but I can get a few copies of the MIT magazine here for those that might not have access. Yippee for working in Cambridge. I can either do a swap for an Empire magazine which has not made its way here yet or whatever the shipping cost is.

I might be able to get the MIT one here. I think B&N will have it (I hope) but which Empire one are you looking for? I think I can get that (I think B&N also has it?), and I can send it to you whether or not I need the MIT.

You probably have the one with Django Unchained on the cover. The February one has Star Trek - Chris Pine on one and Benedict Cumberbatch on the other. Don't judge me.

:panic: We'll have a new album in the fall, a single in september and it'll be Danger Mouse producing, NOT Will I Am! :panic: Shit's happenin'

:panic:

:giggle: I like that gif

 That is awesome

Okay, confession time

I think I might be the only person not running around with wild excitement over a new album. Maybe it is because (sorry kids) I have bigger things looming in the future. A human life in the scheme of things....I will be moving, and so on. Also, when I got pregnant the one thing that bummed me out was I knew it severely cramped my touring schedule for the upcoming tour. I had big, big plans and now...not so much. And before people start offering unsolicited advice, a new baby means more money marching out the door. The U2 kitty is now higher rent, daycare and diapers. Plus, leaving 2 kids instead of one at home. So, I guess I'm feeling resigned to this news. As it gets closer and less of a dream, (and hopefully kickass music) I'll feel more excitement about the whole thing.

Not being a parent myself, I would never give anyone advice on how to do that.

Check out the AWESOME earrings I just won! They're the Aqua Bling stud earrings from C.Wonder and I won them a few weeks ago in a giveaway from SHEfinds. I never win anything so this is super exciting for me!

Gorgeous earrings, CK.

So it has 2 different covers for Feb you mean? Did you want both or just the BC one? :hmm:

I'll look and let you know, I might mosey over there today and have a look. And if you wouldn't mind hanging on to a MIT copy for me until I know for sure if I will get it. My store has the last issue (NOV/Dec) but they don't have it listed in their computers at ALL. They insisted they don't carry it and were completely baffled when i walked them over to the shelf and showed it to them LOL. So I'm thinking maybe they've discontinued it and still had last month's sitting there? i dunno.

Anyway I'll get back to you on it!

CK love the earrings, so cool you won them?! :cute:

And the sig credit must go to U217 as she said it here first. :giggle: I noticed someone memed it though and it made it's way round the internet after that.

Oh honey, been there, done that.
When I got pregnant with FroBaby, we already HAD tickets. Same for Lil' CK. I was in my 3rd trimester with him, and in my 1st with her. Wejust got cheap *nosebleed* seats and tried to have fun. And as for the financial end of things...we've never made more than 10K *in US dollars for those reading* a year since being together. I stay at home not always because I want to (although I love doing it), but because it's cheaper than daycare, a second car, etc etc etc. If money is tight, look into things like WIC, email companies for coupons for products you'll use, and see about finding a local kids consignment place. We took SO much of Lil' CKs baby clothes and sold them to get cash to buy girl things for FroBaby. And I know not everyone feels the same, but for me...secondhand is just more loved. Without hand me downs and places like kids' consignment, it would be hard to scrape by. Either way, just enjoy this baby! And U2 will be around no matter what!!

Yes, I don't care about the Chris Pine one.

The stores here carry it, but I was wondering if it would be like the GQ with U2 that NEVER made it over here.

Aah ok well then should I wait until you see if you can get it before I buy one then? I guess let me know once they are on the shelf there if you got the right cover. I'll do the same. We'll get it covered either way I think!
