so ignore them. for someone who's talking about how nasty everyone is on here, you're sure quick to criticise how nasty everyone on here is all the time. if you don't like a thread, there's always the option to ignore it, including this one.
 
Rate the song threads are getting out of control...filling up entire first page for example.

They could easily be moved to a forum meant for fun/games etc. Oh wait...

this has already been discussed repeatedly, they're not being moved. nor would they belong there anyway, that's not a poll forum.

anyway, this isn't a gripe about the forum thread so let's get back on topic please.
 
Yeah the off key part threw me off. And the part where, you know, he's forgetting the best part of the song!

Maybe he's hyper. That's usually when he can't remember parts of songs. Did he sing this song like this throughout the tour?

Nothing against tongue-in-cheek, but I assume only half of the thread is tongue-in-cheek. Strangely, whenever it comes to Bono, people get serious quite easily. He's an easy target, even among fans, and I guess critisizing and sometimes bashing him has become a legitimate method of anger-management here. I criticize him a lot and some of the stuff posted here is really funny, but not the Africa thing. I can't believe some fans still haven't realised that Bono will NEVER give up the work he's doing for Africa. And I'm glad he isn't, because that's part of who he is and part of what many admire about him. And many hate, too, of course.

Making fun of Bono in a (lovingly) mocking way, on the other hand, is more than appreciated, but I often see threads like this turning nasty, which doesn't happen when it comes to the other band members.

No. I think he's cyclothymic just like that lovely Stephen Fry. This means that he's also gifted. He ticks many of the boxes along the bipolar spectrum:

- He's hyperactive
- He's spoken before about having an irrigular heartbeat (some people with bipolar do have this)
- You mentioned that he's spoken about having panic attacks (common symptom in bipolar.)
- He constantly seems to be undertaking various tasks all at once and sometimes he may not complete them to the best of his ability (eg: superman musical)
- He has a wide range of interests
- He undertakes risky financial investments
- Sometimes he can appear so excited that when he speaks he makes little sense
- He's inventive and creative
- I've noticed that he appears to have lots of nervous energy
- He's spoken before that he does go through dark peroids on a weekly basis.
 
you know what would be lovely? if we could go one thread without having drama from closed threads brought up simply because someone posted in another one. this could be considered trolling as well.

Bono: stop making noises over Edge's solos. It started as a live phenomenon...usually singing "da daaa da daaa" over the solo during a show or something equally irritating. Now you won't even let Edge go off on "Blow Your House Down" with telling us to run as fast as we can. Just let us have our personal time with the Edge in peace! And it's getting ridiculous live. Just go drink some bottled water of something while Edge is soloing PLEASE.
