Interesting. I went to Sound Warehouse in Dallas for the midnight sale and they only had the digipack.

That's the same store where I got mine, but in suburban Chicago.

I remember seeing a friend's copy a couple weeks later and was jealous that he got the digipack, because it had those extra pictures in the fold-out section.

I bought it on the day of release and it was a jewel case. I didn't see the digi-pack until some time later.

Where does it say anything about U2 or Achtung Baby? I just read that little Facebook update of theirs and it doesn't mention any specifics.

I wonder if they could offer at least a short ZooTV concert on the secret bonus DVD.

Are there any short ones? The complete U2 part of "Stop Sellafield"?

I think that shipping the well known Sydney concert is the biggest letdown of the upcoming set. I would love to see another aspect of the tour. Maybe a indoor concert featuring Mirrorball Man instead of McPhisto?

I'd love a high quality, pre-Zooropa indoor ZOOTV broadcast, that's the show I'd (and I think most fans) like to see most.

Which means we probably won't get it on this release (though anything is possible). I'm sure something like that exists, but I just have the sinking feeling that McG & Co. are holding back a LOT of stuff to release over the next 20 years...they're still releasing "unearthed" Beatles stuff for crying out loud.

U2 isn't going to be around forever (the recent news of U2 soul mates R.E.M. is evidence enough of that) and they're going to want a continuous source of income long after they're stopped putting out new material and touring. All of the stuff like Songs of Ascent and the unreleased videos and songs we've heard or suspected of for years will eventually see the light of day....ALL of it. But they're not going to just dump it in a reissue. But it will come when U2 isn't worried about each release being a blockbuster, and after they've called it a night as a working band. They have kids to put through college, after all. :)

Not to awaken a sleeping giant, but the listings at amazon.uk now say "Original Recording Remastered" again. Didn't they take that language down at one point?

Amazon UK and CA never changed it. It was Amazon US that removed the remaster reference.

If I'm not mistaken, the Canadian and UK sites list some, but not all, of the editions as remastered.

I think everyone has pretty much just resigned themselves to the idea that we won't know for sure until it's officially released. If it's remastered, it should have credits in the liner notes for who engineered the remaster, and a notation that the remasters were supervised by The Edge (as the other remasters do).

Aha, thanks for the clarification. I agree that we probably won't have any sort of definitive answer on this until we have the liner notes in-hand. :(

Nice R.E.M. tribute for your avatar, BTW. :)

Would it be too much to ask for an official tracklisting a month out from the release? I mean how do you ask people for $600 bucks without telling them what is on it? I kno that Universal tracklist floated around but how about something solid and maybe some clips?
