Beth posted a picture on fb of herself with a setlist and it has MOS

Insane. I'm glad, though - really thought they did a good job with MOS tonight.

Me too, I love MOS and Bono was really into it rap and all!! The whole time though I was stressing thinking in those 7 minutes Bono would forget he said they would play it OTH. Obviously at the time I didn't realize it was actually on the setlist.

does your friends say "version 2.0"?

Cause a setlist pic from Nashville has it on there

Did anybody else hear Edge say "Oh for fuck's sake" at the start of One Tree Hill when the backing track started? Don't think he was quite ready for it. Classic!

Just got back from the Chicago show. My thoughts, written as coherently as I can manage at the moment:
-The Zoo TV opening killed. I'm pretty sure the entire GA section was jumping up and down when EBTTRT kicked in. (Not to mention the introduction of a Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around The World snippet in Mysterious Ways! Neat.)
-As US shows go, the crowd was pretty great tonight - I even saw people dancing to Zooropa at one point. I think Bono even mentioned that we were one of the loudest crowds of the tour.
-Epic version of OOC tonight! Only the third time on the tour, too. Should be played more often; it's a great song.
-I maaaaaaaaaay have been jumping up and down and high-fiving complete strangers when One Tree Hill started. That might have happened. :hyper:
(Also: First performance of OTH in America since 1987? Damn.)

Weird! I would have guessed it was the other way around - they really seemed like they were "playing it by ear" when it came to OTH.

Great show last night. The sound was a little muddy where we were in the 300s section "behind" the stage, but that was a minor complaint. I'm so glad they played One Tree Hill. . .they played it a show I went to in Japan in 2006, but I never thought I'd hear it last night. It did seem a little spontaneous when they decided to play it. Maybe they had decided before to play it and put it on the setlist, then changed their minds because they thought it was too rough, and then changed their minds again on the spot? I dunno.

Well, when he mentioned it was the day after the anniversary of Greg's death and how they wrote a song about if, a lot of us started screaming for it. My impression was that they sort of went along with that and then decided to do the whole song after Bono put the final live chorus in after MOS was done.

Holy crap !! OTH, not just a snippet....

Kudos for some more spontaneity. Now everyone will be expecting OTH at their shows coming up...I wouldn't be so optimistic. Sounds like a 1 off thing.

:applaud:

Because multi-quote doesn't get enough love, a few comments:

a second of something, and... gone. Heard the end of Beautiful Day... tell my wife I love her very much... she knows!

bmyers's Live - TwitCasting

Ali was apparently at the show. Bono gave shout-outs to her a couple of times early on in the gig before giving shout-outs to many other females. This snippet was particularly romantic.

I actually don't mind to have it back.

And I'm surprised to hear myself saying that.

Nor do I. Sounds great, and the crowd continued singing the "oh oh ohhh"s well after the song ended. Nice transition out of ISHFWILF as well.

Was it Bono?

It wouldn't have surprised me if Bono had puked on someone! He was very...loose, let's say. He missed more lyrics than he hit, rambled on and on about all kinds of shit until I doubt he knew he was still talking, and made more ludicrous rock star moves than is typical for him, most of them failing miserably. In short: Bono was in AMAZING form last night. It had a lot of similarities to his TV performances, and I'm sure his preparation was the same.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Okay, now they HAVE to play it at Moncton or Minneapolis.

I mean, what's so special about Chicago that they get Out of Control?

The LeMels.

Oh. Right.

Okay.

FINE. They can have something special.

:grumpy:

:)

I love how 1/3 of this thread was dedicated to speculating over possible OTH, and another 1/3 was the orgasm itself.

The other 1/3 was Montreal hatin'.

This is the first chance I've had to flesh out some thoughts on last night's show:

Everyone was on like Donkey Kong last night. Band, crowd, event staff.

Wisconsin sucks to drive across on three hours sleep.

Great time at the Celtic Crossing pub. No better way to unwind from a long drive than Guinness and an alcohol-fueled sing along with ' Gone'

More thoughts in the morning

Which of these many lovely vids can I hear the "for fuck's sake"? Thank you!

Look for the one U2BROTHR posted - Edge says it at about :35.

With headphones, I heard it clear as day, but it was very hard to pick out without them.

One of my friends got a setlist and it doesn't but does have OTH. WOW, that's really strange!!

Backing track...or Terry Lawless remembering the keys, Larry nailing the roll-in and Edge goin "faaaaack I was hoping for a snippet..these mofos..they remember..nooOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"

Because multi-quote doesn't get enough love, a few comments:

How's this for multi-quote, kiddo? Hey, one question: was this your first show? I don't mean to assume but for some reason I had it in my head that it might be. If so  If not, well...I guess GFY (kidding)

Amazing.

Edge's "for fuck's sake" was Lol-worthy
