No Line on the Horizon website

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
By the way, I have the clip of NLOTH edited and looped.
I left out everything but the 3 clearest choruses (is choruses even a word?).
And then I looped each of those 4 times.
Send me a PM if you want it.

The chorus seems to say "No line on the horizon" with "Into the light" slightly overlapped/overdubbed right at the end. You could hear this good twice but I only included it on the middle loop (#2 of the 3 choruses) because it could be just confusing to include both and the one I did inlcude was overlapped with the word 'horizon' in the 2nd chorus. All I really want to do is see if people are hearing the same thing I am.

If that doesn't sound like he's singing NLOTH, then I guess I'm just crazy.

While there’s been no official confirmation, industry sources suggest that the new U2 album will be released in Ireland on November 14, with ‘The Cedars Of Lebanon’, ‘Moment Of Surrender’, ‘For Your Love’, ‘One Bird’, ‘If I Could Live My Life Again’, ‘Love Is All We Have Left’ and ‘No Line On The Horizon’ among the songs that are expected to feature.

The excellent U2tour.de and atu2.com websites have also drawn attention to the fact that Universal Music has registered the domain name nolineonthehorizon.com – suggesting that it’s either the title-track or the lead single."

I'm willing to bet that the industry sources are just those cited in the articles on those two websites. That's the convienient thing about 'sources', you never have to actially reveal them, when all you are doing is speculating.

My thoughts, too. Just seems a little convenient that those are the exact same songs that have been listed on atu2.com for a long time. I'd think that some of the ones that have been listed on there for years may have had a change in the title by now...

Anyone on Interference could have wrote that article. It contains absolutely nothing new. Yet, that being said, it is a little exciting to see the information from a more official news outlet.

atu2.com is taking this info from the discussion here on interference and calls it "industry sources".

I cleaned it up but you still can't hear jack shit. I deleted it (I guess, I can't find it) because it wasn't much of an improvement. I'll try again and see if I can bring the music out any better. I can tell you right now it won't work but I'll give it another try.

Generally I can do a pretty good job with cleaning up audio but it all depends on the original source. You can't make out any chord progressions because they simply aren't there to be heard. That music is buried. I'm pretty good myself at picking chords out. The original source was just too obstructed by other noise.

I do remember hearing something odd in the cleaned up clip I made. Could be a trick of the ear but if it shows up on the album, then I want to lay claim to spotting that bastard. (It sounds like) there is a pitched vocal (effect) in it, which could be Bono saying "all mixed up". @1:37 (my clip is 3:43) Given the quality of the recording, it could be anything, I just wanted to make reference to it in case it did show up in the end.

ha it will be funny when the album comes oout in future and we will all look back on these threads seeing if we had it all wrong or right

Well unless Bono is singing 'no line on the horizon' over and over in a entirely different song, then maybe. Really though, there never was a better clip of this one posted, I should have put one up with the chorus highlighted.

I'll post a clip of the chorus all looped together.
I'd like to hear the Adam clip that you think is the choral song.
Is there a link to it on youtube or something? (I am not a U2.com member)

I can't defend the people who hear what they want to hear. The clip that I made the cleaned up version of (titled May 19 HQ tweaked version) where Bono is singing "Aliiiiiive!" had virtually buried music as well. Yet, if you check that original thread, even before a louder, EQ'd, somewhat noise reduced version was made, you have people making all kinds of pronouncements about the music, what the guitar sounded like, etc. You didn't hear me do such a thing. You are right though, we also had a few people claim to hear the phrase 'no line on the horizon' in that one.

See my post on in that thread:

I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure. Still can't say much about what is being referred to as the NLOTH clip though, I can't hear any lyrics at all! But maybe it's just me :)

IMO Elevation Tour, and Vertigo Tour are lame tour names. Won't be hard to top them. I'd rather the name of the tour not be a song title, or from a some lyric, come up with a theme like ZooTV or Popmart

Yeah... "The Joshua Tree" tour and "The Unforgettable Fire" tour names were also just great.

U2 isn't very good with their names. :shh:

If no one minds, Id love your version of the clip as well. I can barely make anything out of the first clip of NLotH.

Ok, so now with Sexy Boots looking more and more solid as the first single, does anyone else think that, given NLOTH.com was registered by universal, it is firming as the album title?

They haven't registered domains for any other songs yet have they? Given we have confirmed that Cedars and MOS are song titles, surely they would have registered those as well as No Line if they were all not going to be the first single.

Does that make sense? I just think that They wouldn't bother registering it unless it was EITHER first single, or album name. Given Sexy Boots "is" (likely) the first single, only leaves album name right?

Its only us fans that have even mentioned Sexy Boots

i refer you to my response from u2log in the sexy boots thread. She claims they ahev their own solid sources that confirm it as a working title as well. Either way, if it is to be the first single, it's not a progression of the song No Line on the Horizon

:hmm: well... and you could say Bono as well... seeing as that he hasn't worn a pair of boots in public in years... and he just happens to put them on the same day the rumors start flying

I've always been a little skeptical of what kind of connections Caroline really has. Sure, she did the new edition of the "U2 Live" book, though she seemingly did it without much help at all from the band (I'm saying this based on the huge reliance on other fans for info, though I'll be honest and say that I'm not looking at the book at the moment to check).

Still, prior to WITS being released, she claimed to have heard the song sung to her "over a bottle of wine" (perhaps trying to imply that she drank with Bono :eyebrow: ) and recalled lyrics similar to "oh can't you see what our love has done." Who knows?
