Clemens also gagged last year in Game 7 with the Yankees.

Suppan was OK, not great in Game 3...hmm.

Hewson 10-21-2004 07:21 AM

Not sure who I want to win tonight, think both will be formidable opponents for the Sox, Houston has a better 1-2 punch with Clemens/Osawlt...St Louis has the deeper pen and stronger lineup.
Funny thing is this series is a great one that nobody is even paying attention to...maybe tonight it'll get the proper recognition.

Headache in a Suitcase 10-21-2004 07:26 AM

let's not sell houston's lineup short... they're no slouches at the plate either.

Hewson 10-21-2004 08:14 AM

No they are quite formidable, but methinks St Lou has the offensive edge (so long as Mike Martz stays away from LaRussa's staff)

Headache in a Suitcase 10-21-2004 08:22 AM

on paper yes, st. louis has the edge... but as long as beltran's still wearing the superman tights, houston's lineup is just as good if not better. and they're used to playing in a ballpark with strange dimensions, too... plus they've got a hell of a lot of guys who's names begin with "B"

Hewson 10-21-2004 08:30 AM

Of course the Cards have secret weapon Rick Ankiel

Hewson 10-21-2004 08:32 AM

Maybe they should just have Beltran and Ortiz play home run derby for the WS championship

Headache in a Suitcase 10-21-2004 08:47 AM

i'd watch

speedracer 10-21-2004 08:58 AM

You'll get to watch David Ortiz play first base in the NL park. That should be amusing.

DaveC 10-21-2004 09:04 AM

Ahh I can't wait.

Go 'Stros!

true - he could at least take out some of the houston line-up - literally - with wild pitches

I want a clean, lots o'runs ahead lead tonight - last night I really thought I was going to get sick - God Bless Jimmy...

Go Cards!!!!!

pujols has been doing better than beltran in this series.

hes hitting .500

the score of the series is 29-29. both teams have the same avg and same era. nuts.

those are beltran and pujols's numbers... you can't tell the difference. one hasn't been better than the other, stat wise. you can give pujols a slight edge in average and rbis, but beltran has a slight edge in onbase percentage, slugging percentage, ops, steals and to top it off his fielding has been stellar.

they're both amazing.

popacrobat 10-21-2004 11:28 AM

i can give pujols the edge because i like pujols more. so there.

beltran will be going to the bank this offseason though...starting tonight for him

wait a minute... can you verify this edge that you gave pujols to actually be a real edge, or is it a fake one?
