New Britney?

What? No mention of the new Britney album? With lyrics like this, I'm surprised it hasn't even been brought up.

Touch Of My Hand
by Britney Spears

Iím not ashamed of the things that I dream
I find myself flirting with the verge of obscene
Into the unknown, I will be bold
Iím going to places I can be out of control

And I donít want to explain tonight
All the things Iíve tried to hide
I shut myself out from the world so I
Can draw the blinds and Iíll teach myself to fly

I love myself
Itís not a sin
I canít control whatís happeniní

ĎCause I just discovered
Imaginationís taking over
Another day without a lover
The more I come to understand
The touch of my hand

From the small of my back and the arch of my feet
Lately Iíve been noticiní the beautiful me
Iím all in my skin and Iím not gonna wait
Iím into myself in the most precious way

And I donít want to explain tonight
All the things Iíve tried to hide
I shut myself out from the world so I
Can draw the blinds and Iíll teach myself to fly

ĎCause I just discovered
Imaginationís taking over
Another day without a lover
The more I come to understand
The touch of my hand

Thereís a
And my body is mine
I wonít be left behind
Iím already here

ĎCause I just discovered
Imaginationís taking over
Another day without a lover
The more I come to understand
The touch of my hand

ĎCause I just discovered
Imaginationís taking over
Another day without a lover
The more I come to understand
The touch of my hand

I didn't think I could like her less than I already do, but come on....and of course the album does not have a warning on it, correct? :eyebrow:

Probably not, because it doesn't sound like it's necessarily explicit, just .. really suggestive. Plus the label and such still want to target her young fanbase, I'm guessing.

people from billy joel to green day to cindy lauper have songs about masturbation... i don't see what the big deal if britney has one now, too

elevatedmole 11-18-2003 12:56 PM

She Bop is far better than Britney's Touch of My Hand. (the title even makes ME twitch..)

Headache in a Suitcase 11-18-2003 12:58 PM

let the britney bashing begin...

elevatedmole 11-18-2003 01:04 PM

Um, yeah. I don't like her at all, but I didn't think I was "bashing" her. I can bash her, trust me, and that isn't it.

Her act is tired-if she really wants to be a SINGER, she should try. Look at those tapes of her on Star Search  , she could sing.

And I'M NOT BASHING HER, NOR AM I JEALOUS OF HER. I think she's a sorry example for young girls, and that's my OPINION, that I think I'm entitled to.

I confess, I want to hear her song w/ Moby it's on Netscape, maybe I'll listen to it I think Moby just produced it, hopefully it's not a duet :D

Exactly.

It is kinda amusing, though, that she does have one...

And I personally think putting warning labels on albums to begin with is dumb...but ditto what elevatedmole said.

Why? Cause we wouldn't want girls to think it's healthy and OK?
