Ok, here it is: Tommy or Quadrophenia

Some of you care, some don't.

I love Tommy as a whole piece, but the songs on Quadrophenia are better written, and sound so great! The production of Tommy has always bugged me because it sounds sloppy.

The Real Me, 5:15, I've Had Enough, and Dr. Jimmy can never be played loud enough.

Your thoughts, if you care to share them?

KhanadaRhodes 09-16-2002 11:07 PM

quadrophenia. both are good, but if it came down to picking one, well, at the very least, quadrophenia has sting! :D

martha 09-16-2002 11:12 PM

You young'uns!

No, no, no, not that one!! The original record! No Sting there.

LarryMullen's POPAngel 09-16-2002 11:17 PM

my dad did have these, lol

Quadrophenia, by a landslide.

That was the first Who record I heard.

The Wanderer 09-16-2002 11:44 PM

Quadrophenia

brettig 09-17-2002 05:24 AM

Purely as a piece of rock music I'd say Quadrophenia and yes its production is far superior, but Tommy was one of the most significant albums of all time, and The Who played it soooooo brilliantly live. Actually that's one of the reasons I love Tommy, cos it can prettymuch all be played on stage if you have a couple guitars, a bass, drums and a french horn.

Tommy.

The Wanderer 09-17-2002 08:10 AM

yeah but I can't stand songs like "pinball wizard" and "tommy" yuck

brettig 09-17-2002 08:59 AM

Tommy Can you hear me? or Tommy's Holiday Camp?

You don't get much better than that.

Diane L 09-17-2002 09:54 PM

Definitely Quadrophenia. Better album, better story, better movie!

martha 09-18-2002 12:01 AM

Humor me, people! NOT the movies!! I'm talking about the original records! Not Sting, not Ann-Margret, not rerecordings!
