Edge's `75 Les Paul at Gtr. Ctr. Northrridge = May 31-June 1 !!
Edge's NYD 1975 Gibson Les Paul - will be on display at the Guitar Center in Northridge, CA from Friday May 30 - Sunday June 1st !!!

Also on display will be Stevie Ray Vaughn's "Lenny" Stratocaster and 2 of Eric Clapton's guitars.... his infamous "Blackie" and his Gibson ES335 that was used during Cream. NICE...

Guitar Center bought Edge's guitar from last years Music Rising "Icons of Music" auctions and the other guitars from other auctions... as is Guitar Center's "way".

It's time that I FINALLY get a digital camera and head of to the valley to take LOADS of pictures!!!!

I paid a visit to The Edge's auctioned 1975 Gibson Les Paul Custom. Some of the pics came out good and some didn't. Guess I've a reason to visit it again tomorrow then ?!?!?

Up close there is one thing VERY noticeable - it's beat to shit! Tons of nicks. There a screw ot two missing from the pickup rings and the buckle rash on the back... But there is NO denying that The Edge has played some great sounding guitar on this.

Here's the pics that I got...

You think that's bad, like at the link to the other guitars in the exhibit. Clapton's "Blackie" Stratocaster is trashed. I can see why he readily accepted Fender's offer to make him a signature model in the 1980's. If he'd kept playing his black Strat it would have vaporized by now.
