Led Zeppelin Survivor: II - round 1

Last round, Communication Breakdown was eliminated with 9 votes. Therefore, it's time to move on to LZ II.

Finalists:

Good Times Bad Times
Dazed And Confused

My vote will be going to Moby Dick here.

phanan 05-01-2008 02:25 PM

Yeah, Moby Dick.

I know it has no shot of winning this, but Bring It On Home smokes...

GirlsAloudFan 05-01-2008 02:31 PM

Bring it on Home, for me.

This album.....jesus christ. Words escape me.

Ramble On FTW, though.

LemonMelon 05-01-2008 02:53 PM

Yeah, Bring It On Home, What Is And What Should Never Be, The Lemon Song, and Ramble On are all amazing...hopefully two of those get through. I really don't care much for Whole Lotta Love though.

Really? Bring It On Home first off? Wow.

I think it's one of the best things on here.

Livin' Lovin' Maid for me, although the riff is still excellent.

Page and Plant do some amazing things on Bring it on Home, and don't get me wrong....it's awesome.

It was down to Moby Dick and Bring it on Home for my first vote.

I rate the first 7 tracks on this album as some of the most lasting and undeniable stuff any rock and roll band produced in the 20th century.

I've never been too fond of the intro and outro of Bring it on Home...not only because they rip off the original but also because it's just slowed down the song for me a little bit.

Zoots 05-01-2008 03:18 PM

Moby Dick. Nice drum solo but gets a bit :crack:

Whole Lotta Love has been killed for me by radio overplay! :banghead: It's probably going next!

lazarus 05-01-2008 03:34 PM

What Is And What Should Never Be needs to win this thing.

Voting for Moby Dick, I guess.

Screwtape2 05-01-2008 03:37 PM

Bring It On Home is the only weak track on the album. I voted for it.

I hope Thank You and The Lemon Song advance.

Moby Dick just doesn't deserve to make it through.

the tourist 05-01-2008 04:44 PM

Moby Dick, easy.

the tourist 05-01-2008 04:45 PM

I'm for Heartbreaker and What Is And What Should Never Be to advance.

SeattleVertigo 05-01-2008 05:26 PM

Moby Dick.

hardyharhar 05-01-2008 08:11 PM

Moby Dick, of course. Only cuz it's a drum solo. But if they had decided not to give Bonzo this bone, :) the opening minute tells you this would have been another great rocker on an already loaded lp.

I can't even say what I'd like to win, I like every other second on this. But Screwtape, Bring it on Home before Moby? That gets a big

This is gonna be brutal

Bring It On Home is quite boring to me. Moby Dick at least rocks.

Zoots 05-01-2008 09:41 PM

I'm listening to this album again and... wow I'm enjoying Whole Lotta Love a lot more than I remember it! I definitely blame Radio for making me sick of it though!

Lemon Song FTMFW! That intro is to die for!

Perhaps you need to listen to the song again, because apart from the intro and outro, the song blows away Moby Dick.

Do you shut it off after the first 30 seconds or something?

No. The intro and outro are terrible. The guitar part in the middle is good but it doesn't go anywhere. I still think it is a boring song.

Zoots 05-01-2008 11:31 PM

Bring It On Home is awesome and all but How Many More Times sweeps the floor with it!

I find Moby Dick to be quite interesting and it definitely goes places. If only more artists would try drum solos.

GirlsAloudFan 05-02-2008 02:08 AM

If two songs are advancing, there is no doubt in my mind that they should be What Is And What Should Never Be and Ramble On.
