A Man And A Woman
Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own
Peace On Earth
If God Will Send His Angels
Staring At The Sun
Stranger In A Strange Land
Numb
Miracle Drug
Love Rescue Me
Wake Up Dead Man

WalkOnTheEdge 07-24-2006 05:13 PM

Have you people lost your minds??? Some of you are putting 'Walk On' on your own lists??? That's absurd. Not only does it not deserve to be on that list but it should be on EVERY list of U2's BEST songs. You just can't beat the single version with the piano version. It's tremendous.

Some of you old-timers are so determined to dump on any song after 2000 that you make yourselves look like fools. Get over it. The 80's and 90's are over....just be glad this band is still making music.

WalkOnTheEdge is right, everyone. Shame on you all for disliking what is U2's best song, like, ever. :tsk: Shame on you all for having an opinion. :tsk:

Quick, someone find a stake and some kerosene. You will all burn for your sins against 2000 era U2! Repent!

GibsonGirl, you beat me to it.

I LOVE WALK ON, Stuck in a Moment (especially the Acustic Version) and I Like All because of You.

Screwtape2 07-24-2006 05:38 PM

I suppose picking on 00's era U2 is more honorable than picking on early U2. And more fun.

Not really. They've released quite a few duds (well, what sound like duds to me) throughout their career. A bad song is a bad song, regardless of when it came out.

To me, a song can be quite good and be "lame". This isnt the top 11 worst U2 songs, although there's a high chance that its both lame and bad.

BigMacPhisto 07-24-2006 06:26 PM

I agree with Miami, Wake Up Dead Man, Pop's Version of Gone and Mofo.......that's about it. I really just don't like Pop.

"Miami" is the worst song on a U2 album. No question. The author nailed that.

Screwtape2 07-24-2006 06:29 PM

Depending on which definition you use :nerd:
The lamest U2 song is Numb :eyebrow:

Screwtape2 07-24-2006 06:30 PM

Actually, using every definition of the word the lamest song is Numb

I agree. I'm also fond of Trip Through Your Wires.

Here's my "lame" list:

A Man and a Woman
Beautiful Day (ducks rotten tomatoes)
Elevation
Vertigo
Stuck in a Moment (album version - the acoustic version is OK)
Some Days Are Better Than Others
Is That All?
Miami
City of Blinding Lights
Miracle Drug
Yahweh

(Edited to add I loathe Elvis Ate America, but I consider that a Passengers song, not a proper U2 song).

Most Lame U2 Songs:

1- Grace (Worst ever attempt at U2 "Song")
2- Wild Honey
3- One Step Closer
4- Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own
5- A Man And A Woman
6- The Hands That Built "America"
7- So Cruel
8- Babyface
9- In A Little While
10.Love Rescue Me (sorry Axver, but it's one of the weakest Dylan's songs ever, and trust me, I've listened to many ones since the early acoustic days to Love And Theft)

Earnie Shavers 07-24-2006 07:32 PM

1. Yahweh.

The beginning of the end.

"I guess you've truly arrived when you can release a song this bad and still have a career. If you brought this to someone as a new artist, you would be thrown from the top floor of the building into a pile of James Blunt albums. But in its failure is hope - the hope that comes with the knowledge that if U2 could bounce back from this, anyone can. Once you get all the James Blunt albums extracted, that is."

You just can't take seroiusly ANYTHING from a guy/gal who has "Gone" "Bullet The Blue Sky" "Love Is Blindness" " Wake Up Dead Man" and "Walk On" on they're U2 lamest songs list. I'm surprised "Bad" didn't end up on there as well. Geez.
