I'm going to try it tonight when I'm in a seat.
But the one other moment of AR they used (the MacPhisto snapchat filter) worked about as well as when I try to faceswap with my dog, so I'm expecting this also doesn't work so good.

I meant to use the app in San Jose, but when I went to open it, I found my phone had apparently kicked it off between when I'd downloaded it and the show, so .... oh well.

did not work for me last night but i was nearly last row upper deck so maybe it's dependent on proximity to screen?
