Vancouver Setlist Party (OPENING NIGHT!)

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
If they're intent on playing these songs, fine... I don't think there selection is bad, but the placement could be much better.

And it could be a simple fix...

02 - Elevation
03 - Ultraviolet (Light My Way)
04 - One
05 - Miss Sarajevo
06 - The Little Things That Give You Away

07 - Where the Streets Have No Name
08 - I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
09 - With or Without You
10 - Bullet the Blue Sky
11 - Running to Stand Still
12 - Red Hill Mining Town
13 - In God's Country
14 - Trip Through Your Wires
15 - One Tree Hill
16 - Exit

No way Bono has enough left in the tank most nights to close with Bad. And opening with BD/Elevation is just :|
I know it's gotten enough crap around here for being a "retro" tour, but the 80s openers feel like the more organic lead-in. Different songs for the encore instead of the same ol' is what could send people out still buzzing.

I think Little Things builds and explodes perfectly for a closer. It needs to be released and known for the crowd to be more into it

Quick two cents, but I want to wait until Seattle show to form more complete opinions.

Quibbles aside, they played ASOH, so who the fuck cares about anything else?

It might have been our seats and the size of the venue, but the crowd often felt very flat. Friends and GA thought the opposite, so yay.

A lot of it just felt a bit ... off. Like first show jitters and uncertainty?

Encore is way too much of a bummer to end with. Nice that the new song got a little steam at the end, but after One and Miss Sarajevo, it was too much downtempo stuff to end on.

Gorgeous visuals, well done on that screen.

Looking forward to catching it from back of GA tomorrow.

The natural place for growth is between Miss Sarajevo and Little Things because there's a thematic break. The main set flows very well (but they could add a song between ASOH and MLK), and they don't want to break up a thematic segment (feminism from Elevation to Miss Sarajevo).

Little Things is a closer, so they shouldn't put anything after it. Unless it's 40.

In regards to the rest of the show, the fact they never took breaks between Joshua Tree songs made all the difference in the world. It was one song suite rather than 11 songs.

Updated - only MLK I can't find

Don't know where else to post; RHMT; the boys were all in; lots of talk of piano this & guitar that; agreed; but there's also talk of laziness or lack of emotion; that's where it went too far and quite honestly its a wrong and incorrect assessment ;...the boys were all in on this one, chips all in... Its quite evident in this closeup video; Bono wailed those notes; controlled power in his singing; Bman felt really proud of his performance; felt really proud of the bands performance; you can see at the very end of the video.

I think the song is already a 10/10; I do think they need to bring up piano man from down in the underworld, (key boards are necessary in this tune); the horn sections added classic and elegance, props to Lillywhite; ...though Edge indeed needs a guitar in his hands; regardless, mind blown, ears blown!!
