You mean the song itself or the live versions?

I think as we age we have the life experiences that create songs like One.

Happy Birthday has to be separate?

I've always liked the song but got boring over the years as its been on autopilot with a 5 minute speech. I fell in love with it on Live from Sydney with some big ass stereo headphones. The bass kicking in was sublime. As was Stay from that show.

I listen to the speeches only because I tune Bono out and get right into the positively gorgeous backing track.

On U2gigs we list it separately but don't allocate it a number. It skews the stats otherwise.

"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."
