Too early... especially if there's a pt 2 coming out.

Plus, DON'T open with an old song!

A Lemon snippet in Sleep Like A Baby just because of the falsetto? Pass. And no chance they open with Streets.

I hope Cedarwood opens the encore.

1. Opening with Even Better on the 360 tour worked pretty well, and I just don't see any of the new songs as show openers. Raised By Wolves could work, but is too dark to open I think.
2. I left Cedarwood out even though I know Bono will want to work it in eventually. It is a plodding, middle of the road song like Crumbs. I respect his lyrics, but live Crumbs just doesn't do anything for me. This song will probably be the same.
3. And too early?...it's a prediction, that's how these work.
4. Someone else give it a try!

5. As for snippeting Lemon just because of the falsetto....I agree it's a bit too on the nose, but so was Vertigo with the Stories for Boys added in. It's just what they do (and I love it).

Are there any new songs that might flow well into Streets? EBW and Troubles are the only ones I can picture at the moment. :hmm:

Miracle can easily open the show, they can really pull off 4-6 new songs right off the top, ala ZooTV. Their that strong. Invisible could work as an encore opener.

Oddly, I think California has enough of a thrust and is light enough to open a show.

Just the idea of finishing the show with Elvis Ate America, Plot 180, Theme From the Swan & Theme From Let's Go Native is hilarious and is sure to infuriate a lot of people. Me however, I find it bold and intriguing

Even though it's way too early to start guessing I'll go ahead anyway. I can only get to around song 7 because then my head starts to hurt.

1. The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone)
2. Invisible
3. I Will Follow
4. Mysterious Ways
5. Magnificent
6. California (There Is No End to Love)
7. Until the End of the World

Here's hoping for Dirty Day, Gone and Last Night on Earth also.

And your lack of a sense of humor, where did that go?

I haven't been on this board in a long time...glad to have a reason to be back and to bicker about fictional setlists.

As long as we're all in agreement that A Sort of Homecoming needs to have a sort of homecoming in a live setting, then we're good.

I think record #2 will drop before the tour begins, so they'll play 6-7 songs a night from the combined two albums, thus leaving a lot of material on the floor. I mean, half the songs on the new album would really be a stretch for a live setting (particularly the last three).

I think Every Breaking Wave, California and The Miracle will all be around for certain though.

22. The Troubles

I like the idea of closing with The Troubles, it is haunting much like 40. (also, I'm tired of 40.)

I want them to bring back Pride, I was surprised how much I missed it on 360.

Cedarwood Road and Sleep Like A Baby Tonight have literally zero chance of making the set list. I mean, I guess they could show up as a one-off. The former is too mid-tempo without any hooks...it will bore the audience that's unfamiliar with it (and it isn't that well liked to begin with). The latter is too much of a Zooropa album track...too hard to pull off in front of 20,000 people.

Iris is also a bit too weird, even if it's far more creative than a bland ballad like Song For Someone...the latter just seems like it would work better in an arena setting.

I think the likely cuts are:

Miracle
Every Breaking Wave
California
Volcano
Raised By Wolves

Somewhat Likely:

The Troubles

Possible:

Song For Someone
Iris
This Is Where You Can Reach Me Now

No Chance:

Cedarwood Road
Sleep Like A Baby Tonight
