May 30, 2015 - Los Angeles, CA - Forum

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Just bought a row 3 lower level seat for a decent price from TM resale, so I'll be seeing some of you there hopefully!

I want to go to this show, but the resale is just too expensive.
It could be my last show, as I'm flying back home on the 31st.

If anyone has an extra (hopefully face value) ticket, give me a call

Anyone from SoCal give a flatlander from the Midwest some tips on this venue, parking and so forth? My 25 second dive into Google Maps suggests that we take the 405 or 110 to Manchester, find a place to park and walk in.

That said, is this area considered hmmm, safe or do we need to be cautious?

Is Hollywood Park Casino any fun and, maybe more importantly, is it a reasonable walk to the Forum?

Arguably -- drive, casino, drink, chill, eat at buffet, head to the GA line about an hour before the show, find a spot on the floor and just roll with it.

Feedback por favor.

It's not a dangerous neighborhood, but there isn't much there. Your directions are correct. Hollywood Park is adjacent to the Foum, but I've never been there. I get the impression that it isn't the nicest. Is recommend eating near where you are staying then driving in. Also, parking is pretty expensive, $20-$25 depending on the event.

It's not the best neighborhood, but it's not the worst either. You should be just fine and safe there, but it's not the type of neighborhood where you stroll around, look in shops, wander around and stuff. It's more: Go. Get to your Destination. Do your thing. Leave. type of area.

I agree with trojanchick about eating somewhere near where you're staying and then just driving in for the show.

For those of you who know, how safe is it to walk around. We are doing an AirBnB that looks relatively close (on Hazel St) and I'd love to be able to walk back and forth vs dealing with parking. We have GA tix and are going to the first four shows. Thanks in advance!

If you stay on the casino/forum property you should be alright. However, I would stick to El Segundo/Manhattan or Hermosa Beach areas if you are staying south of the forum and Marina Del Rey/ Culver City if you are staying to the north.

Just doing a quick search on Google Maps, it looks like (walking distance) Hazel Street is about 25 to 30 minutes away from The Forum. During the day that should be fine. I often have to go to the Inglewood Courthouse during the day and it's fine. But, personally, I wouldn't want to be walking for that long in Inglewood at night. For my two Prince shows and Arcade Fire, I just sucked it up and paid for parking. Drove in, saw my crazy-awesome shows, and drove right out and back home.

Maybe look into Uber or Lyft to get you to the The Forum and back to your AirBnB without having to pay for parking.

Why triple rates? Do they jack their rates for concert events?

Yep. At least in San Diego for sure. We couldn't even afford our uber ride home after the Paul McCartney show downtown San Diego. It was up to over $150 for us to go home just a few miles. :(

(We called and woke someone up to come get us instead. He was not happy. :reject:)

Is there an age restriction? I want to go with my 14 yr old son

It's in the middle of gang territory. So, use your head and don't wear gang colors or do anything to cause attention. Me personally, i would not walk anywhere but on forum grounds but that is just me. Be safe.
