I miss your debates with Timothius. I remember you had a very spirited one during the Oct 8 MSG Vertigo show!

I recall the debates being during the third leg but I couldn't recall which shows, well done! I remember crying with laughter during a couple of those debates. I think Timothius got the better of me more often than I did of him. Miss the guy heaps.

Dunno why but the way Bono sings this version feels like a reggae style.... :shifty:
Gotta say though, Adam is the real star of this stripped down version, the bass sounded AWESOME in person! I was close enough to see him hit 1 "off" note and Larry glanced over with an eyebrow raised...

For some reason I just don't think people pick up singing the ending part as much as Bono wants them to?!?!

This is the most I've ever heard them do it :D

Plus, ya know, 95% of the audience doesn't know it.

Yeah, that would definitely explain why we did the outro for about another minute after the song ended at LA night 3 and why a few of us were startled by Bono cutting us off during Night 4.

The Be Yourself to Free Yourself sing along took off on its own as far as I could tell. I didn't really notice Bono encouraging it.

I still hear "any dream will do" but I can't tell if that's the song I think it is or just a similar line from another song. I mean, it DID come out in the 70s so ....

I was there. It was awkward.

Good times!

I wonder whatever happened to Timothius :hmm:

LA 3 was the first time the singalong really happened, wasn't it? Never seemed to quite reach the same heights since...

I'm being sarcastic. From where I was, it went off like a rocket both nights. But in night 3 he let it ride and for whatever reason, at night 4 he cut us off and it was really a little upsetting, honestly.

Unless that's what you were referring to as being awkward.

I had no indication at show 4, the one I had seats for, that the vast majority of people didn't know the songs, I saw LOTS of singing along.

I can't remember what, if any response it got at night 2 because I was so taken in seeing the spectacle for the first time (after all, that's only the 2nd song of the night that uses the video board. I was still pretty awe-struck). But Night 3 felt like it very organically took off, and on night 4 it seemed to be going the same direction until the incredibly abrupt, "That's it, there aren't any more lyrics" shut down.
