Yes, U2 tend to promote songs of their latest albums during the accompanying tour.
That's why the 360 Tour, promoting the album No Line on the Horizon, featured the rarity No Line on the Horizon

To say that post-2000's material is even in the same category as those is nuts.

That's a different matter.
But since I expect U2 to play songs from their latest album and they only play 2 or 3 other post 2000 songs I don't see what you expect them to do. Unless you want them to replace 'warhorses' with other songs.
Which is an option, but when they haven't explored on any other tour so far.

Your Blue Room killed me on the 360 tour because it's my favourite song. It was better left alone because as we all saw, 2009 Bono couldn't sing the falsetto part that 1995 Bono could.

In saying that I would still pay to see that show because it would heavily focus on Adam's bass solo and spoken word outro.
