Recording devices allowed for tour?

Hi. My boyfriend bought us VIP tickets for London and he wants to have a HD recording of the show. We don't want to sell the images or anything. We're so excited about going and want to have something to remember years later.

The tour rules say only point and shoot cameras are allowed but don't mention camcorders.

What about a decent audio recording device like a zoom hand recorder?

Are security super strict or can you smuggle cameras in that aren't allowed technically?

If you bring a camcorder with you, even if you somehow get by security while entering the building, you stand a very good chance at getting ejected from the building.

There will be people filming there, so I suggest if you're not epxerienced in it, don't bother. Wait until the clips are up on youtube/u2torrents the next day.

The band themselves say they will post fans' video when using the #U2ieTour hashtag, but the venues say only phones and point-and-shoots, no video or audio recorders.
