on what dates/where do we think/know that these shows will most likely be added?

There was an interesting graphic with the current dates listed along with some "date slots" if you will with no cities listed..with some coded numbering system. Can someone repost that to this thread?

I think it was Andybrock who posted this in the old thread:

edit - no dates here, but helpful anyway maybe.

When you look at the tour page source code, every show has a link associated with it, such as U2

So I looked at all of them, and there's some inconsistencies... Here's a list with associated IDs:

Some IDs are not in the list, even though they seem to be mostly sequential. Some are in odd places, like they were added later.

Thanks!

Ok so before that list, I had the following hunches:

The extra 2 Chicago, after the currently listed ones.

The extra 2 Toronto shows would be added to before July 6,7

The extra 2 Boston, after.

The extra 4 NY, after July 23.

This list would seem to indicate that...no?

And 4 extra LA after May 31, 2 extra Montral after June 13.

The only issue is wasn't Chicago rumored for 6 shows, if so that would be all 4 slots after June 25 and leave Toronto with no added shows. I would think 4 each is more likely but there was info on 6 for Chicago somewhere.

My prediction (possible new dates in bold):

Vancouver - May 14-15
San Jose - May 18-19
Phoenix - May 22-23
Los Angeles - May 26-27, 30-31 + June 3-4, 7-8
Montréal - June 12-13, 16-17
Chicago - June 20-21, 24-25, 28-29
Toronto - July 2-3, 6-7
Boston - July 10-11, 14-15
New York City - July 18-19, 22-23, 26-27, 30-31
--
Torino - September 4-5
Amsterdam - September 8-9, 12-13
Stockholm - September 16-17, 20-21
Berlin - September 24-25, 28-29
Barcelona - October 5-6, 9-10
Antwerp - October 13-14
Cologne - October 17-18, 21-22
London - October 25-26, 29-30 + November 2-3
Glasgow - November 6-7
Paris - November 10-11, 14-15, 18-19

NYC is supposed to be 8 dates total between July 18-31. (if they do REALLY well, I suppose it wouldn't be out of the question to cut into the band hols and do two more after that even since it is the end of the leg, but probably not).

5 Dublin dates at the end surely.

Glasgow could be a candidate for extra dates given its capacity is only 13,000 and folks from Northern Ireland would see it as a good option...

Then again London's population is more than Scotland and Northern Ireland combined.

Any guess as to whether these dates get added on the fly on Monday?

Or will they be civil and give us a day or two's notice like they did for this entire tour? :gah:

I'm impressed with how rigidly they appear to be sticking to the "two consecutive shows followed by two consecutive off days" model.

though it will be interesting to see if they forego playing prime weekend days (friday/saturday) at MSG to have 2 days off when the new dates are added to the run.

I'm betting that the scheduling pattern we're seeing is a stipulation of their touring contract. "We're done playing more than two shows in a row - and we need two days off in between. Period."

When you're U2, you make the rules.

Keep in mind there is the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Although this is just a theory, I think they won't play more than 4 concerts in each city. However in this case, each borough.

I really want to see the final 2-4 NYC shows. So, let's hope for some days in between sales.

I can't remember if dates have been added on the fly before? I think so... Vertigo?

this certainly seems to be the case. also wonder whether they pay to rent MSG (or any venue) during the off days. can't imagine they take down the stage so the venue can have other events.

the 2 days on 2 days off allows them to really get some rest in between physically and vocally. It makes it once the show is up to speed, where they work for 30 Hours with brief rest and then get almost 70 hours off.

I like it. Good for them, and it's a little easier on rabid fans, too.

No way, no how could I do 3 U2 shows in a row, now. Body's getting too old.

Anyone know if our pre sale codes will work again for any newly announced gigs?

They only work for one purchase, but if you didn't buy any tickets with them yet, you'll still be able to when the new shows are added, so long as there are presales (which I believe there will be).

Does anyone else find it odd that the proposed additional dates in Toronto are before the announced ones?

I've never seen it done like that before...

Yes, that's why I think we'll see 6 Chicago shows (or even 4 Chicago +2 something totally different).

A little absurd given that Canadian shows actually typically sell out faster but our dollar is weakening so there's also the ever present bottom line.
